Charlie took the steps down to the Scamander Park underbasement two at a time. For once he was alone, having left Mircea with Ginny. Not that the dog was going to owl him if there was a problem. Not that Charlie expected a problem. But it still reassured him to know that Mircea was with Ginny and he hoped it reassured her too, that he left his other self with her.
After he'd gotten Ginny tucked away safely and dealt with things at the Burrow, he'd owled Trimble to arrange this post-mortem. Most Regulators didn't do their performance reviews at the spelling range.
Most Regulators weren't Charlie Weasley.
He doffed his dragonskin jacket and tossed it over a chair in the outer chamber, ignoring the feel of the parchment in the inner pocket as it dragged against his favourite Gryffindor Quidditch shirt. He knew wearing it for this meeting was a giveaway that he wasn't expecting it to go well.
Opening the door to the inner chamber, where the targets were already prepared, Charlie greeted the other occupant of the room. "Hullo, Quent."
