Once the wall had come down, Charlie had sent Mircea into the remnants of the Mathwall district to find Ginny. Mircea wasn't a hunter by breed or training, but he was a herder and when he found Ginny, he'd be able to get her back to the border camp where Charlie was still obliged to wait and supervise.
For all that he hadn't seen anything in Ginny's hand in the journals in some time, he wasn't worried. Ginny was tough; Ginny was a survivor. She would come out and laugh at any fears he admitted to. It was one reason why he didn't have any to admit to.
Still, he wished he'd been able to follow Mircea into the ruins instead of waiting at the camp to supervise the Regulators and, frankly, keep an eye on the Obliviators. There was too much going on and just because Charlie didn't interfere didn't mean he wasn't aware of what was happening.
Ginny needed to come out so he didn't have extra attention for that, either. He stopped paying attention to the Obliviators and the distracting flashes of light and turned back toward where the wall had come down, straining to hear the familiar sounds of a dog barking, looking for a familiar red head, hoping he'd see them soon.
