Who: Members of WICCA and any witch who expressed an interest in joining
What: September meeting!
When: Evening of 10 September 1998, staring at 6PM
Where: Kettle & Cup, London
Warnings: None expected.
Status: IC/OOC

This is the IC/OOC thread for the September WICCA meeting.

Kettle & Cup has been rented out to WICCA for the evening. Refreshments are set up on the main counter--wine, butterbeer, tea, lemonade, pumpkin juice, cheese, fruit, goat cheese dip with pita, mango and prawn skewers, fig and bleu cheese skewers, creamy tomato and orange soup, watermelon gazpacho, apple and marzipan tarts, lemon fancies, cranberry and orange scones, and pastries.

The agenda is as follows:

  1. A discussion regarding the future of the DMLE project. As Miss Nott has been apprehended, is there still a need to provide food?
  2. The Fall Concert to benefit WADA. Cambina Bulstrode and Bela Dunstan should have an update on this.
  3. The Holiday Masquerade Ball to benefit St. Mungo's. I will have an update.
  4. The family event to tie in with the Holiday Ball. This will benefit the children's ward at St. Mungo's. Pansy Malfoy and Gwendolyn Montgomery will have an update.
  5. The Winter Festival to benefit the Dirk Cresswell Scholarship. We need someone to take point on this project.
  6. Future projects, including the dinner to benefit the Phyllida Spore Fund.
  7. Outreach to women under 35. Cambina Bulstrode has some thoughts to present on this.
  8. Any other business.

We have settled on a masquerade and secured the Events Center at WADA that we've used for a few other events to host the ball. Currently, we're looking for suggestions on musical performers.

Dottie came prepared with a list of possible musical options, including famed performers Celestina Warbeck and Spellbound, which would be at the more expensive end of the spectrum. She also suggested several lesser-known bands, many of which were featured in rising talent sections of the Dailey Prophet in recent times. Most of her suggestions had largely popular new ballads and feature a variety of string instruments so as to provide a more suitable sound fit for a ball rather than a rock concert. She suggested that going with one of the newer bands, such as Sound the Siren or Charming Calypso, would help give them more exposure and keep cost down, especially as many members of these young bands were graduates of WADA and might be willing to cut a better deal for performing at such a prestigious event hosted at their Alma Mater.

(Am I doing this right? I totally made up more than half of that.)

Narcissa appreciates the suggestions, though Celestina Warbeck performed at last year's Holiday Ball and therefore isn't who we want this year. As the big draw this year is the masquerade rather than the performer, she likes the idea of some of the rising stars. She will contact the ones Dottie suggested and request that those who are interested come audition for WICCA members.

(Yep! Though... Wasn't Spellbound the name of Neville Longbottom's band in this game? But other than perhaps that confusion, absolutely!)

Dottie was pleased!

(I don't have a clue. I haven't been here long enough to know, and I didn't see that anywhere. Spellbound is listed on the HP Wiki as an all-witch group that has a habit of getting themselves in scandalous situations, as young rockstars are sometimes bound to do. lol.)

Narcissa asks if Dottie would like to take care of inviting groups to audition for them.

Dottie would be delighted, and will invite the groups to audition on a specified date of Narcissa's choosing.
