There's a premiere after-party, or a more casual party of some sort, where they're meeting for the first time. Your guy's ex is there, who is flaunting a new relationship, possibly having cheated on your guy with his new boyfriend. Our guys end up alone and after a conversation, get noticed alone by a looky-loo, who they both know is going to post a pic somewhere. Your guy's ex has expressed an interest in my guy in the past (he's been around a long time), and upon being told that by your guy, my guy decides to parade yours around like they're there on their tenth date or so.
After that, my guy assumes yours is okay, and not interested in hanging out or anything else, because of the age difference and/or something else, and just kind of bows out. Your guy is interested and contacts mine again, so they strike up a friendship to start. They figure out they're actually much more compatible and have more fun than they might have guessed. They're both hesitant, because of the ex, and my guy's tragedy from years ago, but they don't lose contact because of it.
I really would like to write Keanu against a younger celebrity, but I'm willing to work something out with PB or even AU. I'm open to discussing tweaks in general, really. I play him kind of goofy and sweet, but with a dry sense of humor. I'd really like for there to be some angst among some fluff, and we can kind of figure that stuff out along the way.
