Slow dance with me....
When I think of dance music, I think of the thumpa thumpa. And yet ... first of all, my beloved Brian-worshipping fan girls, let us all acknowledge, no matter how we love him, that Brian cannot dance. Really. He can sort of hump Justin on the dance floor while music is playing, but dance? I say this with love, but it's kind of painful when he tries.

All his best moments are either true slow dances -- "Save the Last Dance for Me" in 122 and again in 202 -- or the ones where he and Justin are dancing to music only they can hear -- Pride, Cha Cha dance, "good cock, bad cock," Forever Young.

And yet I've never read a fic that had them dancing slow that I bought, even fics I otherwise love.

Do you think Brian and Justin would ever slow-dance again like they did at the prom? At a wedding or any kind of public event, can you imagine them, really, in character, coming from where they were in canon and slow-dancing together? How about alone, with no one to see?

If they'd gone through with their golden-gardenia-garnished wedding, would they have slow-danced at that?

Now, a confession...
I seriously want to believe it. Make me believe they would.

They sure would, and damn, the thought of that just gave me a pang. I wish I'd seen that.

I wish. Hopefully someone more talented will though...

The way Brian was when the show ended; yea I could see them slow dancing together. More so alone than in front of people. His emotions were bared so openly and he was unafraid to show it. You could see all he wanted was to be close to Justin and because of that, I could easily imagine it happening. Bottom line - post-513 Brian would definitely slow dance.

As for Justin, there was never a time that I thought he wouldn't want to do that, even when he was with Ethan.

I always wanted to read a believable fic in which this happens. It's been one of my guilty pleasures since watching the ep. where Michael and Ben dance to REO Speedwagon.

I love that scene where Michael and Ben dance. I don't usually get very schmoopy over B/M, but that scene is really amazing. Teh love isn't just B/J, right? Ben and Michael in that scene... it's all about teh love.

Yea, I always loved that scene. IDK, but "I can't stop this feeling" was really a perfect song choice that set the mood.

darling, brian bought a country estate, called justin his prince, and asked him to marry him...is it really such a stretch to believe he'd slow dance again?

Let's rather look at reasons why he wouldn't...

post-513. I can't think of any.

I have a harder time imagining getting him to an event where slow dancing would occur than i do imagining him thinking fuck what everyone thinks i'm going to do, i'm going to slow dance with justin once he was there...

as for being alone and doing it. as a very very spontaneous event. yes, i believe i happens, probably more than once.

i believe that there were many slow dances in the future for brian and justin once brian admitted that he wanted a permanent commitment. after a proposal, he had nothing to hide regarding his feelings for justin and justin would have wanted a slow dance and brian would do anything for justin!

They absolutely, without a doubt, would definitely have slow-danced at their wonderful golden-gardenia-garnished wedding. It would have been beautiful and perfect and Deb would have cried because Brian was finally showing Justin (and everyone) how much he loved him. It would have been like the prom with everyone in the room stopping and staring, but everyone would be crying with happiness (Deb, Em, Ted (he cried at Mel and Lindsay's wedding!), Jennifer, Daphne) or just staring open-mouthed in awe (Mel). And there wouldn't be any baseball bats.

In private I can see Brian and Justin dancing spontaneously in the second half of S3. If they had music on in the loft and Justin happened to sidle over to Brian and pull him up off the couch and started to hug him and sway a little... and if would be perfect too. Man, the end of season three... teh love is overflowing.

I agree with NY. I can't imagine a situation in which Brian ends up at an event where slow-dancing would take place (except maybe Deb and Carl's wedding), but if he somehow believably ended up at an event like that and if he felt there was anyone there who wouldn't want two guys to dance together then he would definitely slow dance with Justin then. And I think he would dance with Justin at Deb's wedding. She would make EVERY couple get up and dance.

I've always had this idea that after they end the kiss when they are trying out suits at Hugo Boss that Brian just grabbed Justin and dipped him like he did at the prom. It's not hard to believe that they would slow dance a little in the dressing room after that kiss.

Whenever this point is made, I *always* like to point out that he *could* dance at the prom, so THANK YOU for saying it and for the other times you mentioned...

And yes, in my mind, Brian and Justin HAVE slow-danced...alone. And with Brian singing to Justin. Yeah. I know...but it's *so real* in my mind that I'm afraid to try to write it. It's so pretty and perfect I wish you guys could see it like I do.

As for any place else, I honestly can't picture it, but it'd be nice.
