Due to a serious lack of decent television and a serious love of Teh Love. I've decided to go back to the beginning, and I hope some of you will want to come with me.
Queer As Folk, A Full Series Marathon With Your Fandom Friends on InsaneJournal Starts January 14, 2008
I will be watching one episode a week, in order, and at 10pm EST, Monday nights, opening a discussion post at qaf_marathons on the current week's episode.
What will be discussed?
Whatever strikes our fancy. :D This will not be a structured, focused marathon. This will be friends getting together to watch an episode of television once a week, just like the old days. I'm guessing I will have a lot to say about the hair. You can talk about whatever you like...lighting, directing, what you loved, what you didn't, the social implications, whatever. Feel free to be as shallow or as deep as you wish in the comments to the post. When I watch with my friends I lean towards the shallow.
What won't be discussed? There will be two* strictly enforced limitations:
1. No Hate – No hate on characters, no hate on actors, no hate on Cowlip, no hate on canon, and most definitely no hate on other fans. You can express displeasure about something that happens on the show without being hateful.
2. No discussion/speculations about the personal lives of the real people involved with the show. In other words, if you are absolutely convinced that scott and hal were secretly getting it on, that is fabulous, but well I just don't want to hear it. and i don't think this rule is going to harsh all of our squees.
I want this to be a good time and fun and relatively light, just like it is, hopefully, when you watch a show with your friends. This marathon is going to take more than a year, and that's, like, a long time what the hell am I thinking.
qaf_marathons will still be available to host other, more focused marathons during this time. This is just kind of like a bonus feature.
Finally, I think there is a good chance I am not going to be available every single Monday for the next 80 some weeks. But the show must go on. Interested in helping? Let me know so I know who to hit up for help.
I hope to see you all, at 10pm EST, one week from Monday :D (ps...discussions of episodes will be ongoing until they die a natural death, so if 10pm EST is 2am wherever you are, you can still join in the fun the next day, that is just what time I will be opening each episode up for discussion.)

*Of course the asylum's rule of no Brian/Michael will apply, which actually is covered under rule #1, IMO.
