Re: 506 - 5. Red Cape Comics. Where did this marriage fantasy come from? Is this truly what Justin wants? He certainly seems disappointed in the effect that the marriage issue had on Brian. Does anyone think that perhaps Justin went with this story line in an attempt to push the issue with Brian? Also, notice how absolutely certain Justin is that he’ll never have this kind of relationship with Brian. How does this compare with his desires before the Season 2 break-up?
The marriage fantasy comes from the same place his S2 desires did (*waves to gmta_nz*), but I think it's much more mature than those desires were. It's not about flowers and candles and the outward trappings of romance -- it's about something much deeper: stability and trust and not being afraid to admit that you love each other. (Ie, what Michael and Ben have. The look on Justin's face as he watches those two kiss earlier in this ep breaks my heart.)
I don't necessarily think he wants to get married right now, nor do I think he is "pushing" the issue with Brian, exactly -- more like feeling him out. One of Justin's best qualities is his optimism, and I think he was hoping against hope that Brian might surprise him and not entirely reject the idea of marriage, but...yeah. The disappointment on his face feels like S2 all over again.
