I'm really sorry about this Jan. It's still not loading and somehow the prep I did for the marathon is gone...would you be okay with trying another night? It doesn't look like my computer's planning on cooperating, and my nook's touch keyboard isn't the best...

Justin's nightmare
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 03:17 am UTC (link)
I really like the way the beginning was filmed. Everything's upside down for us the way life is upside down for them.

Unfortunately, Justin can't even dream about going to see Brian without Chris Hobbes showing up and terrifying him. His mother comes running, but there's nothing she can do.

Doesn't Justin say in S4, when he's holding the gun to Hobbes' head, that he's still having these nightmares two years later? Shit. :(

Babylon
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 03:24 am UTC (link)
Emmett's admiring the asses of guys at Babylon...but not in that way (well maybe a little). ;) He wants plastic surgery!

E: This life can wear you out by the time you're thirty. Right Brian?

Hee. I love Em giving Brian shit.

E: Teddy, don't tell me you've had work done.
B: Yeah, because if you have, I'd sue.

Lol. What an ass...so to speak. ;)

Michael comes up acting sort of like our party boy Brian. Then he acts like himself again and sticks his foot in his mouth. "You always liked dancing with Justin." Really Michael?

The diner
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 03:31 am UTC (link)
Debbie's such a mom. I love her. Esp since Michael needs to hear it. Get over David. Get a job. And get on with your life.

Ted and Emmett argue about what kind of job Michael needs. Michael just buries his face in his hands. I wonder how long it's been since the last ep when he moved home?

Brian and Linds
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 03:34 am UTC (link)
Trying to build a swing set. Lol where is Leda when you need her? Actually if Mel is a whiz with hardware (heh I bet too) why isn't she putting it up?

Brian and Linds relive a bit of S1 and recall Gus being born, since it's almost Gus's bday. Brian remarks that he had two sons/sun(shine) that night. Linds suggests calling Jennifer, but Brian says that it's better this way. Given that he thinks it's actually his fault Justin was bashed, he probably believes it.

Lol!! Brian cackling at Mel turning down Lindsay makes me laugh. And Brian and Mel actually agree about something!! Quick, write it down.

The Big Q
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 03:45 am UTC (link)
Michael's taken his mother's advice and gone to find a job. That asshole Andrew's taken Michael's old job and doesn't miss the opportunity to have Michael work for him. I'm so glad this only lasts for like two episodes before Michael opens the comic shop!

Was the Q in Big Q supposed to stand for queer? Lol. It makes me think of K-mart but that they picked q for that reason.

Deb, Vic, and Jen
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 03:51 am UTC (link)
Jen's confiding in Deb and Vic about her struggles with Justin. Love their friendship! Wish we'd gotten to see more of it in the later seasons (with Deb at least, since of course Vic isn't around).

V: Black bottoms were my specialty. *looks at Deb*
D: I didn't say a word.

Hee!

Gotta love Vic and Deb's spirit. Jen's lucky to have them in her life.

Deb has apparently decided since last episode that Brian's not such an asshole after all (I wonder if Jen told her he was there every night?), because she suggests to Jen that maybe Justin needs him, as someone he would like to get close to. Jen refuses "after what happened" and insists that she can look after Justin herself.

Justin and Brian
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 03:54 am UTC (link)
The scene begins just like the dream, but fortunately this is reality and Hobbes isn't on the other side of the door.

"I almost freaked out like five times getting here." :( *hugs him*

Brian completely blows him off, but it's in a halfhearted, broken kind of way, and I feel awful for Justin. Brian too, since you know he's only doing it because of Jen's request and his own guilt (which I think is a huge factor, considering Jen didn't want him around in S1 either and he still saw Justin then).

[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:00 am UTC (link)
How does anyone get any work done at that place?

Ted's watching porn and talking to Em. Also he's drinking coffee, which he spills all over his pants. Which his boss then walks in and sees, along with the porn on the screen. Smooth, Ted.

Justin freaking out
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:07 am UTC (link)
Shit, I hate this scene. Justin's so broken, it seems like he'll never be better. Which I guess is how we're supposed to feel, since that hopelessness is exactly what the characters are feeling.

He's destroying his room when his mom walks in with Molly (I think this is the last we see of her actually). Jen tries to touch him and he reflexively shoves her. He's realized that she told Brian to stay away, and tells her that she had no right (which is true- she was trying to look out for her son, but she really didn't have any right to tell Brian to stay away).

J: My life is fucked! Chris Hobbes saw to that. He should have fucking killed me.

*cries and cries* Oh Justin!

The gym
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:15 am UTC (link)
Ted's ranting to Michael and Em about getting fired. He's sure it's only because he was watching gay porn and not, you know, cause he got caught watching porn on company time.

Speaking of jobs, the theme among the three boys this week, Em calls about a job ad in the paper for one of those domestic service places. We know where this is going.

Brian and Jen
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:27 am UTC (link)
Brian's just finishing with a trick, who's acting like a dick. Apparently Brian's not performing to his usual standards. Naked Brian walks the guy to the door, which Jen is standing behind. Awkward!!

J: I came at the wrong time.
B: You two have a lot in common.

Heh, at least Brian gets in an insult before the guy leaves.

B: He's not here.
J: I know. That's why I came. To ask you a favor.
B: I already did you one.
J: This one's for him. I want you to take him.

I really think she means it, about this being for Justin. I do believe she's doing this for the purpose of helping her son, because she believes it's what's best for him, and because it's what Justin wants. But again, I really really think she should include Justin in these conversations for sure.

J: The worst part is standing there...helpless. Do you have any idea what that feels like?

Of course, Brian knows exactly what that feels like. :(

Ted and the girls
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:31 am UTC (link)
Ted's at Mel and Lindsay's now and is ranting to them about his job loss.

Lol now Mel's dealing with the fucking swing set. Or is that not the swing set?

Lindsay brings up the wedding again, telling Mel how their backyard would be a perfect place to have it. But then she was thinking today about having Gus's party there, and it made her think how the time to be romantic has passed. Mel wouldn't go that far, but Lindsay apologizes and says she won't mention it again.

Justin and Brian in the car
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:35 am UTC (link)
Justin's almost back to his normal self for a minute there, haha. He does sound like a brat though.

Brian doesn't want to hear Justin bitching about Jen, though, cause he's lucky to have a mom who cares. Something Brian never got with Joan.

"Yee-ha!" Lol!

"Just until you get better." Yeah we'll see how that goes. ;)

J: I know why. It's because you love me madly, passionately, deeply. Just like I always suspected.

Haha! It's true though.

Brian and Justin
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:56 am UTC (link)
Justin climbs into bed, his right arm held close to his body, dressed in shorts and a long-sleeved shirt.

B: What are you doing all the way over there? Come closer.

Justin does, but he's extremely nervous.

B: You want to take off some of the clothes? You might get overheated.

Justin smiles, but it's short-lived, and he gets undressed even more nervously. Brian kisses him and tells him to roll over, which he does, but when Brian crawls on top of him, Justin has to stop. He sits on the side of the bed, and Brian rubs his back and tells him it's okay.

J: It's not okay.

Brian doesn't have a reply for that, because what can even say? Neither of them are okay.

The shrink
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 04:58 am UTC (link)
B: A series of hopeless addictions for one. And never seeing a shrink, for another.

Haha!

I love Brian for seeking out a shrink to talk to about helping Justin. I wonder why Jen didn't do that? I could see Justin not wanting to talk to a shrink, but even Brian is doing it on his behalf.

The shrink tells him to trigger Justin's memory to get him to process it and moved beyond it.

The dance
[info]britin1729
2013-06-08 05:17 am UTC (link)
I love that Daphne's here for this. But the original dance makes me so happy and this one just crushes my heart. The flashbacks to a happier time...Justin still not remembering... :'(

And then the song comes on...and Justin just sort of walks more than dances...

J: We really danced to this corny old song?
B: I prefer to think of it as ridiculously romantic.

Love the flashback on that. It kills me that Justin never remembers any of this. The dance, the kiss, out by the jeep...

J: You kissed me? In front of everybody?
B: Yeah. You should have been there.

The parking garage
[info]britin1729

I can't even imagine how hard it is for them to go back there. For Justin, knowing he was nearly murdered in this spot and not remembering any of it. For Brian because of course, he remembers everything.

Brian starts to recount what happened to Justin.

B: Then I knew why Debbie calls you Sunshine.

Oh... *cries some more*

Brian starts to lose it when he gets to the part where Justin gets hit.

B: Christ! Don't you remember anything?

Justin goes to him, tries to touch him.

J: I wish I could remember.
B: I wish I could forget.

Those two lines.... they get me every time. :(
