Em meets Drew in the hotel and tells him about his meeting with Sierra. Then he asks Drew when he's going to tell her, but Drew has no intention of doing so. Emmett can't comprehend this...I love that. It makes no sense to him whatsoever to hide, he's always just faced everything head on. His clothes are usually awesome and flamboyant, and in this scene it's no different- he's wearing a pink shirt with flowers on it, and I don't think it's an accident that they had him wear that for this scene. He's being true to himself, like he always has been, and his clothes express that.
Em's now pretty disillusioned by Drew...and I love what he says here, his speech, even though you can tell it's so hard for him.
E: You know, everything you said made perfectly good sense, and I'm sure most people would agree with you. Why tell anyone, why lose everything, when it can be your little secret? But see, it was different for me. Everyone could tell who I was from the start, which, believe me, didn't make my life any easier. I've been beaten up, cursed at, spit on, from day one. Which in a way, was worth it, because I've never had to live a lie. And I'm not about to start now. Not for you. Not for anyone.
He gives Drew a final kiss on the cheek before walking out and shutting the door. That last shot of Drew, he looks almost pathetic, sitting there half-naked in a hotel room, hiding behind closed doors. But I'm SO proud of Emmett!!! He's so strong in this scene. That's the second time he's had to walk out on a relationship with someone he truly cared for.
