Challenge #40: Sentence Prompt
Title: Only in Pennsylvania
Author: Catcayman
Timeline: Post Season 5
A/N: Very loose interpretation of the prompt, so no condom awarded! I actually found these laws on http://www.bitoffun.com/stupid_laws_Pennsylvania.htm. Also, I'm from Pittsburgh originally, so I feel that I can poke fun at PA.

Brian and Justin were driving back from New York City along the interstate. Justin sat in the passenger seat, reading the paper.

“Must be no real news,” he grumbled. He read aloud from an article entitled, “Stupid Laws in Pennsylvania.”

“You may not catch a fish with any body part except the mouth.”

Brian snorted, “That IS stupid.”

Justin laughed, “You may not sing in the bathtub.”

“You better turn yourself in.” Brian noticed an exit sign, “Want to stop here?”

“NO! There is a ban on men being aroused in public in Allentown!”

Brian pushed harder on the accelerator.

this was adorable.

i grew up in PA too. There is also a law that says that if there's a horse coming near you have to disassemble your car and hide it under a tarp.

personally i think that if i can give out condoms for my loose interpretations, you can too, but that's really up to the mods.

for the record...

# No more than two packages of beer at a time may be purchased, unless you are buying from an official "beer distributor".

# All liquor stores must be run by the state.

# Motorized vehicles are not to be sold on Sundays.

I made my living off of the first two, (i worked at a beer distributor) and the no selling cars on sunday thing, is one of the few blue laws left that they actually follow.

PA sucks and can we not not not, look too deeply into the fact that i actually knew this and it always bothers me in YBYA that i KNOW Brian says they're going car shopping in the morning and that i also KNOW there are no car dealerships open on Sunday.

of all the things that are wrong with that fic... the blue law one is the one that makes me grind my teeth every time.
SUN.

Glad you liked the drabble. LOL at Cowlip's astonishing lack of knowledge (the Susquehanna river flows through Pittsburgh suddenly?). I saw your post over at [info]tweedygal's about the timeline problems, obviously no one thought to Google PA laws or rivers either. Or were you talking about a particular fic? *sorry about the total ignorance--I am terrible remembering fics*

I remember vividly when a beer distributor opened in my town. It was like a holiday, since our nearest State store was about 15 minutes away. Almost as exciting as when the McDonald's opened. *snort*

yeah, explaining a beer distributor, vs. buying two six packs at a place with a beer license, but NOT the supermarket or 7-11 vs. a state store is always fun. *rolls eyes*

the susquehanna does come near pittburgh, because that's where three rivers stadium is... where you know, the monongahela (which is pronounced mo non gah heela) not HALA, for those who watch "back to you" the susquehana and the ohio...i think, all meet.)

fuck, i just looked it up. it's the ohio, the monogahela and the allegheny, you're right.

susquehanna runs around the phila area though, i know that.

whatever, they looked, saw that justin was above the age of consent and that's the last thing they checked about PA.

I think they put the tags on the wrong side of the winsheilds too, but hey, so did thirtysomething.

okay, SUN.

Jeez...how did I miss this???

It's fun and cute and I love obscure laws. I really do...

And I say it fits the prompt just fine and demand that you give BRIAN a condom immediately. *grins innocently*
