Prompt: Jet Lag
Notes: For the purpose of this drabble, Paris was one of the first stops on Emmett and George's trip
Emmett finally visits Paris for a carter’s seminar, of all things. He pretends to be excited, but he’s secretly dreading it. Going alone, without George, even after all these years, seems cruel.
He arrives two days early after booking one night at a famous hotel he can’t afford for even that long.
He spends his entire stay on the balcony, looking at the Seine while sipping champagne and trying unsuccessfully to hold back tears, talking as though he’s not alone, as though there’s sitting next to him. Emmett knows George is listening.
Jet lag does funny things to a person. |
