A bead of sweat runs down Justin’s spine. So. Sticky. Slow.
It travels an imperfect path shaped by skin, and bone, and tiny hairs, and muscles that flex and pivot.
Ever changing course but sure in destination.
Gravity.
Brian’s eyes follow that single drop until it is disappears into the crack of Justin’s ass, just visible over the top of his filthy, paint-splattered jeans.
He swears Justin has been wearing that same pair of pants for years.
More beads of sweat follow. He watches them all.
Brian knows that path.
Oh how he knows. By tongue and by heart. |

A line of paint runs down Justin’s canvas. Red. Yellow. Orange.
It is the hottest summer on record and Justin’s tiny studio is a poorly-ventilated hellhole. No air conditioning. No furniture. Huge fucking window pouring in light and heat.
It smells and Brian is soaked.
He sits on the floor and watches Justin paint - shirtless and serious. Beautiful.
It is so fucking hot.
“Go to the hotel...”
Justin mixes colors like a dance and a science. One running into the next - dripping together and becoming something else entirely.
Gravity.
“.. I’ll meet you when I’m done.”
Brian stays. |

A bead of sweat runs down Justin’s spine. Brian’s. Breath. Catches.
He reaches with as lips, his teeth, his whole body. He devours it.
Justin leans his head back, eyes closed and smiling.
He keeps painting.
Brian watches. And sometimes touches.
He feels like a witness to greatness. Sometimes a bystander. Sometimes part of it.
In moments like this - despite the discomfort - Brian can believe that some choices he made right.
They travel an imperfect path shaped by laughter and tragedy. They bicker. They fuck. They are together and apart.

Characters: Justin, Daphne, Gus, Jenny
A/N: Inspired by the Olympics and memories of my own childhood
Condom: the diner
Jenny dove into the pool; sweet relief from the hot summer's afternoon. Her legs broke the water first when she resurfaced, toes pointed perfectly.
She continued playing at being a synchronized swimmer, Gus giving her the occasional boost to shoot her out of the water, for what seemed like hours.
Justin and Daphne kept their eyes on them poolside, sipping on blended margaritas.
"God, they remind me of us when we were around Gus' age," Daphne muses.
"Totally." Justin pauses. "Shit. That was twenty years ago! Now I just feel old."
"Darling, don't worry. You still look twelve." |

Whenever she thinks about Craig, her chest feels sharp in the exact place she previously felt a giddy sort of joy.
It is a wave of heat under her sternum. It hurts.
No matter how much time passes, she is still angry and embarrassed. She is sad. She misses her family. She can not get past what that man did (does and will continue to do) to their son.
To her son.
Sometimes she feels like she let it happen. If she had....
After too many glasses of wine and unexpected tears, Brian hands her water.
