‘Fuck!’ Cynthia wanted to kick herself. Instead, she weakly waved the two glasses of champagne in her hands at them by way of explanation.
They had been celebrating the opening of Kinnetik’s New York City branch in their own unique way.
And it wouldn’t have been half as embarrassing to walk in on them fucking like bunnies across Brian’s desk.
But she had clearly caught them at a very special moment. She could see that from the blinding smile on Justin’s face and the soft, unguarded look in Brian’s eyes as they broke their tender kiss to look at her.

Brian's POV
He is leaving.
The drive to the airport is silent; we've said everything that needed to be said. My hand finds his and I hold it tightly.
He goes to check in his bags and winks at me over his shoulder, making my heart skip a beat.
The words he whispered to me last night echo in my head. "Sometimes things have to fall apart to make us realize what we truly want."
My fingers trace the edges of the ticket I bought for next Friday. I know he's not sure if I'll use it.
