Cynthia practically begged Justin to fly into town to attend her wedding… more so to distract one Brian Fucking Kinney from fucking his way through the wait staff and any of the pseudo-closeted wedding attendees.
Sure, he’d slowed down a bit in the twelve years she’d known him, but she didn’t want to take the chance that her rather conservative father stumble across cousin Aaron in the men’s room with Brian’s dick up his ass!
What she didn’t expect was the beautiful toast Brian gave to her and her new husband, Noah. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. |

He accepted the box the nurse handed him, mechanically noting its contents: keys, wallet, phone, a grocery list they’d rescued from his pocket as though either of them still needed it. So little left, but they’d destroyed his clothes, and he’d already taken his wedding ring, placing it next to his own once they’d turned off the last of the machines.
“If you need help making arrangements,” the nurse began.
“No, we have,” he swallowed hard, gesturing toward the waiting area. “I have family waiting. I just. . .” he couldn’t finish, but she nodded and left him alone to say goodbye. |
