Jennifer followed Justin into the kitchen.

“Honey, can we talk in private? I’d like to give you something without all the others around. It’s not a secret… just… you’ll see.”

“Sure Mom, let’s go to my studio. You have me curious now…”

Opening the gift box that Jennifer handed to him and carefully parting the tissue paper, he revealed a tiny, light green baby garment. Jennifer gently stroked over the bunny decoration and smiled at her son.

“This was yours, Justin, your first outfit. You wore it on your first night at home. Maybe you want it for the baby?”

“Why is Aunt Daphne wearing a tent?” JR asked, unable to tear her eyes from the colorful garment in question.

Mel rolled her eyes at her daughter.

Brian looked at Daphne, raised an eyebrow and snorted.

Justin and Daphne’s eyes met across the table. He mouthed “tent” and they both started to giggle.

Lindsay explained in her teacher tone of voice, “Daphne’s wearing a caftan in honor of Kwanzaa, to celebrate her African heritage and culture.”

“Uhmm… actually no, I’m not.” Daphne cut in. “It’s just that my belly is so huge now that it’s hard to get comfortable clothes.”
