Brian narrowed his eyes at the wrinkled clothes dangling in his son’s closet and began a familiar tirade. Something about dykes and straight kids and the need for a masculine influence. Gus pretty much tuned him out, preemptively poised for his dad to be a dick, especially for the first few days...

“…When does Justin get back from Munich?”

“My peripatetic partner returns in 5 days.” Brian frowned, “But you know that.”

Gus tossed a baggie at him, getting his attention, “Start rolling then. There’s no way I’m surviving ‘til then unless we’re both stoned.”

Brian smirked, even looked proud.
