“If we pool our money, we’ll have enough to see the movie. Come on, Daph, please?”
Justin looks at his best friend, his eyes round with pleading.
“I hate to borrow money from you,” Daphne sighs, rolling over onto her back and looking up at the ceiling.
Justin has a poster of a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball player up there. Daph thinks his parents must be pleased by his sudden interest in watching sports. She knows the real reason why and she’s not telling.
“Its not borrowing, it’s sharing. You always share. And I’ll always share everything with you.” |
