The first thing I heard when I walked into the diner was a loud, exasperated, "Fuck”, followed by Debbie's calm voice. "Why don't you let me get the coffee?" He was leaning on the counter, scrubbing his hands over his eyes. Shit, he was crying. I pulled him close and whispered in his ear: "No use crying over spilt milk." He pulled back and looked up at me. "I’m not crying. My allergies are acting up" I kissed him and said: "Then, how about some coffee?" "Your wish is my command."
