As Ben easily attached the railing to the wooden frame, he was reminded how he had struggled putting this crib together for JR.
They’d had such high hopes setting up the nursery for her, but life hadn’t turned out as they’d planned. Things were good now, and though Melanie had offered, he was glad they were using a surrogate.
Setting the crib upright, Ben let one hand glide along the smooth top rail and smiled, knowing that in a couple of weeks, when they brought JR’s baby sister home, he wouldn’t be Uncle Ben this time; he would be Daddy. |
