Title: Be It Ever So Humble…
And the Condom Goes To: Teddy
Author's Note: This is the first of a trio of drabbles I've dubbed The Home Sweet Fucking Home Trilogy.
Brian rocked back on his heels and rubbed his hand thoughtfully over his chin.
“Justin?” His voice sounded strained as he called across the yard. “A word please.”
“Hey, what’s up?” Justin wandered over to stand next to his disgruntled partner. He wrapped an arm around Brian’s waist and nudged him playfully.
“What the fuck is that?” Brian spoke quietly, glaring balefully towards Britin’s entryway.
Frowning, Justin followed his gaze, searching for the source of Brian’s displeasure.
“What?”
“Is that a fucking welcome mat?”
“It’s a housewarming gift from Emmett. It says Welcome to Our Palace. Don’t you like it?” |

Title: Taking the Plunge

Condom: Ted
Ted stood outside, Blake’s gift a heavy weight in his pocket, wondering if he should wait for another day. Then he reminded himself that he choose this day for a reason even if he wasn’t sure Blake would remember.
Pinning down an anniversary in a relationship filled with endings and beginnings was virtually impossible. His birthday was the logical choice, but it never felt right to Ted. It was this day, a year ago, when Blake moved in again, that Ted finally believed they had their timing right.

Title: Joining Up
Notes: For maxymama who gave me the prompt Deja vu, new adventure, a dream is fulfilled, a dream is let go, the past comes back to haunt, the future is here, the present is a gift- take your time. This drabble falls between my previous drabbles Sinking Ship and Smooth Sailing. You made need to reread those for this to make sense.
Condom: Ted
Brian came home to find Justin sitting in the dark. He noticed his bag on floor and half-expected Justin to explain why they needed to move on again.
“Hey,” he said, hoping he didn’t sound as uncertain as he felt.
Justin smiled, and Brian realized his bag was open and partially unpacked.
“I hear Kinnetik’s looking for an Art Director who will work for room, board, and mind-blowing sex.”
Brian wanted to say no, wanted to tell him not to sacrifice his dreams to save Brian’s, but he’d never been that unselfish. Instead, he held out his arms, “Welcome aboard.” |

Title: Movie Night
Notes: For fun_demented who gave me the prompt I am just always dying to read about Britin. How about an end of summer drabble, Labor Day weekend? Movies on the grass at Britin? Swimming in the pool?

The kids were half-asleep before it was dark enough to use the state of the art outdoor projector Brian bought the same day he’d purchased four first class tickets from Toronto to Pittsburgh.
Debbie passed out bags filled with hot, buttery popcorn as the familiar Disney music began to play. Lindsay followed with juice boxes while Ben discreetly handed out beers to the adults.
Gus and JR dragged their sleeping bags right onto the lawn. Ted and Blake’s daughter sat between them for awhile until, still nervous around so much family, she curled up on the swing with her fathers. |

Title: Private Screening
Notes: Continuation of Movie Night
Condom: Ted
Somehow the kids managed to stay awake until the credits. The marathon popcorn fight started by Michael and Brian, but joined by everyone , may have helped. But by the time the yard was cleaned up, all three kids were sound asleep.
Emmett helped Ted and Blake to their car while Michael and Ben carried Gus and JR into the house.
“I can’t believe you bought this,” Justin said once he and Brian were alone dismantling the projector.
Brian pulled Justin close, kissing him deeply. “They’re leaving in two days, and my cock will look fucking huge on that screen.” |
