Title taken from the Erasure song "Home" because it's late, and I'm too tired to think of one, Condom: Ben The first week of August, Pittsburgh was so hot and humid that when Emmett stepped out of his apartment he felt like he was back home in Hazelhurst. But then he walked down Liberty Avenue, and while people waved or stopped to say hello, not one person spit on him. When he reached the Diner, he was soaked with sweat and dying for some of his Momma’s lemonade. But after being greeted with hugs, and teasing backed by love not hate, he remembered that Debbie’s lemon bars were even better.
