Title: Take Away All of This Darkness
Notes: Thank you to ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) notreallyme for her quick and helpful beta! As soon as I saw this challenge, the lyrics to Let It Ride by Ryan Adams got stuck in my head and wouldn't leave. The song does not lend itself to a QaF drabble, so I just used lyrics for the title. A huge hug and thank you to brianslave68 for changing the text on all my drabble icons too.

He woke with darkness pressing ruthlessly against him, the nightmare still fresh in his mind. Bloody faces leering at him, burned and trembling hands pulling at him, people begging and pleading for him to help, to end their suffering. Clutching at his head, he repeated, “I can’t, I can’t...”
He’d thought now that he was here, in his bed -- back home -- that the nightmares would finally stop. They’d only gotten worse.
Then he felt someone reaching out to him, pulling him close, talking him down. “It’s ok. You’re fine. I’m here. It’s just a nightmare,” Justin soothed. Finally, Brian relaxed. |
