Debbie held JR on her lap and handed Gus a cookie.
“Debbie, please let us…”
“Shhhh, she’s sleeping.”
Melanie and Lindsay looked at each other and shrugged. Since Debbie had arrived she hadn’t put JR down or stopped feeding Gus sugar. On the other hand, she had also bathed them, put them to bed, done three loads of laundry and cooked and frozen a lasagna.
“Why don’t you two go out alone? Have some fun!”
They smiled and grabbed their purses. She may be the only worthwhile grandmother the kids had, but she was better than all three others combined. |
