| Which Season? |

The longer I'm in fandom, the more I grow to love the later seasons. This is also true in the fic I prefer to read. I very rarely want to read season 1 fic anymore. I find I prefer older Justin in particular, but older Brian too.
My current favourite fics to read are set either post-513 or are "what if.. something in season 5 was different" fics.
I even prefer older and wiser B/J in AU fics. I re-read Xie's OMG so brilliant Pulse Point yesterday and I loved having a season 5-ish Justin characterisation. I think it's less important to have a season 5 Brian in that situation, because we all know it was Justin who helped Brian grow up and become the man he was by the end of season 5 anyway, and it's their journey that is The Love, but an older, more mature, less bratty Justin? Hell yeah.
I love the man Justin was by the end of season 5. I love that he no longer put up with shit. I love that he knew his worth, knew what he wanted. Knew what was important to him, and wasn't. I love serious!painter!Justin, I love that he was the best homosexual he could possibly be.
