A Challenge in Two Parts
Hello everyone! Thanks to [info]_alicesprings for once more allowing me to guest hostess a challenge in her community!

This time I'm going to try something a little different: A challenge in two parts.

The first part of the challenge will be to artists to create a banner or similar-sized graphic (something smaller than wallpaper but bigger than an icon) that is intended to inspire a story.

Each artist can submit up to 3 entries. They can have text as part of their design, but should not use a title for the story. At the end of the first phase, the artwork will be posted anonymously, and then the challenge will move to the writing phase.

Writers are challenged to select one banner/artwork and use it as the inspiration for their story. Five days after the stories are posted, the artists and authors will be revealed.

Writers may use only one image per story, but multiple chapters of one story can have different graphics.

Here is where I need your help: I haven't been able to decide on a time frame for this, so I was hoping anyone who is even somewhat interested in participating would take a moment to answer this poll.

My first thought was the same as a regular fic challenge -- 10 days to sign up, late signups allowed, then three weeks for the art phase and three weeks for the writing phase. But perhaps that's not long enough?

Please let me know by taking this poll!

Poll #1089 A Challenge in Two Parts
Open to: All, results viewable to: All

Following a ten day signup period where late signups are allowed, the best division of time for the challenge would be:

Three weeks for the art, three weeks for the fic

Four weeks for the art, four weeks for the fic
6 (35.3%)

Three weeks for the art, six weeks for the fic

Six weeks for the art, six weeks for the fic

Other, please explain in comments

I wonder what I will do if Rebel makes a graphic?

rebel makes graphics too??

um, i think that you should not be allowed to choose graphics done by your pets, because then people will think you are in cahoots....a definite unfair advantage. and vice versa...rebel should not be allowed to write off of your graphics :D

I have asked Rebel and he informed he does not know how to do graphics. I hope he doesn't get KT to channel his artistic impulses!
