Crazy Idea!
I was wondering if anyone might be interested in starting a psl based in an early modern (17th-18th century) fantasy-ish setting, where things are similar to the real world but not identical, in great part due to the addition of fantastic elements. I've been sketching out a few ideas for shenanigans.
1.) A almost Romeo & Juliet idea, set in 17th century France, where the two leading familes are divided by confession as well as politics, that is one character is a Huguenot (Protestant) and the other is Catholic. But it seems that there's an unseen hand keeping a desperately needed peace from coming over their city ...
2.) Germany is still a land with many deep, dark forests. It is rumoured that there is a city of strange beings who jealously guard their forest homes from the encroachments of the Duke's logging interests. Adventurers are commissioned to explore the depths of the Black Forest and protect the interests of the Duke.
3.) Driven off of the continent, Charles Levy has established himself as Court Magician to Charles II. However, he needs an apprentice, as he will not live forever and if he dies without passing on his secrets, they may be lost forever ...
I play het and also non-romantic lines. An extensive knowledge of the relevant history isn't needed, but it'd be good to have a bit of a layman's knowledge of the times. I prefer AIM, but I'm open to other means of RPing as well. Comments are screened. If you're interested, you can drop a line here or talk to me at KristhePaladin on AIM.
