 | One month ago the reports started coming in. Cities all around the world were falling to ruin by something. Reports were sketchy; no one truly knew what was making it happen. When what was really going on started to hit the internet and the local TV stations it was thought to be an elaborate War of the Worlds spoof but instead of aliens...something even more ridiculous. Zombies.
It wasn't until the president made an emergency broadcast from a secure location that interrupted every channel that people started to take it seriously. No one knew why. No one knew how. Zombies were attacking large cities though. Most of Europe and Asia had already fallen completely to the shambling hordes. The epidemic was fastly spreading and major US cities like LA, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Seattle, Chicago, and New Orleans had all been hit.
Percy Warner was the first to be diagnosed with the Wasting in Safe Haven. Doctors and Nurses had never seen anything like it before. Crazed with fever and snapping and biting at any and everyone. It wasn't until after Nurse Frasier and Dr. Hues were bit by the man that an intern noticed he had flat lined but was still thrashing in the restraints on the bed.
The good Dr. Hughes had been smart and called in the sheriff and the deputy. Nurse Frasier had unfortunately run though. The sheriff's office hadn't found her before she had a chance to infect others though. It really didn't take long for panic to set in, for the epidemic to spread through the small town.
