&netherworld;

As it is known to mankind now when death grips a lifeform they perish and are sent into the earth where they will reincarnate into something beautiful and provide the world with the always looping circles of life and death. But, what if those always interlocking circles were bent and broken apart leaving the Valley of the Light forever separated from the Land of the Dead never to continue on the chain reactions of life, death and reincarnation. However this does leave the question: Where does one go when they die if these linked circles are torn apart? A question that has a solution only known to those who have passed on to see their new land.

Enter the Netherworld.

A sub-world once connected to the state of the living, the Netherworld is an area with many realms all connected to each other by strange portals. Although the Netherworld in itself is mostly a neutral land, there are certain realms that seem to be more of a threat than the others. It is true that to be in this world one must be dead and therefore shouldn't have the need for fear of any things that could be even remotely ominous - but with death comes fear and with fear comes pain. Dead one might be, food you may not need but even in the Netherworld blood and pain are as real as the living.

There are four different realms joined together in the Netherworld, each one with their own creatures native to its grounds - it is up to those in the realms to decided for themselves which creatures are friend and which are foe. Judge not by their looks entirely for such things can be deceiving. Shelter can be found if you look hard enough in areas such as caves, and holes. They can even be built if one is creative enough to try. Food and drink are not necessities in the Netherworld as there is no hunger to be felt. There is only one large difference between the living and the dead carried into the Netherworld - the dead have no hearts. The similarities are as simple as if one is cut they will bleed and feel pain. Cold and warm tempuratures have effects on the dead although it is minor. Injuries sustained in death are carried over into the Netherworld as permanent scars.

There is but one rule to the land that allows you to pass through realms so freely: the dead cannot visit the land of the living under any circumstances. The living may, however, visit the dead. Perhaps - if one is lucky enough to be called by the living for a meeting, that is.

Forgotten Gods

What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather?

Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings.

And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness.

Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.

Entirely convinced that the protection of Magical blood is essential to the further existence of the Magical populous of the United Kingdom, and inspired by the uncompromising determination to safeguard the future of the United Kingdom's Magical citizens, the Ministry of Magic has unanimously resolved upon the following law, which is promulgated herewith:

By Order of Gawain Robards, the Minister of Magic, all witches and wizards must report immediately to the Ministry of Magic to register their Blood Status. Those failing to comply will be assumed traitors to the British Ministry and promptly arrested, stripped of all titles and accolades, sentenced to ten days in Azkaban and thereafter released under watch by the Magical Blood Protection Department for a time of one year, wherein they will be brought to trial to reassess their loyalties.

Perhaps we in the United States should've seen it coming.
But apparently, no one did. Not until it was much too late.

In 2010, following several years of international unrest, the President of the United States agreed to meet with a potentially-hostile foreign dictator over dinner to discuss the possibility of smoothing relations between the two countries. It seemed as if it would be a very low-key event, with both men standing down most of their active guards in order to show that they came to the meeting in peace. Unfortunately, all things went horribly awry faster than anyone could’ve guessed. Both leaders were kidnapped and assassinated by infiltrators in the foreign palace. The US Vice President was rushed to power, and called an emergency session of Congress to discuss the next best course of action.

Apparently, however, the enemy was expecting this.

The bombings took place right in the middle of the congressional session, destroying the entirety of Washington, D.C. and large portions of the surrounding area.

The people of America were shocked. Within moments, nearly every important governmental figure in the country was dead. Who was in charge now? Did anybody know? There were a few Senators and Representatives that hadn’t made the special session, but they had (wisely) gone into hiding for fear of their lives. [read more]

Tempus Fugit - HP RPG - DH canon

The year is 2001. Voldemort was defeated 3 years ago, and the wizarding world is busily rebuilding.

The Death Eater threat has been eliminated, at least as far as the Ministry is concerned.

Relations between Muggle and Wizard have reached an all-time high. There are even policies in place to completely eliminate the statute of secrecy and all its subsidiary policies within the next few years, including a visit by Prime Minister Tony Blair this summer to Diagon Alley!

Obviously, there are movements to return the pendulum the other way. A Separatist Movement is forming using nom de plumes from a variety of characters.

Even more strangely, those known to be dead have been appearing. While no one seems to know the rationale, no one can deny that it is happening.

Now, the Ministry is fighting two battles. One, to encourage Muggle and Wizard interactions, and the other to define where these dead citizens belong.

We are looking for vibrant characters with a thirst to redefine the wizarding world. Original Characters are welcome, but please be aware that certain rules apply.

This is an epic-style game. Plot arcs spanning months are welcome and encouraged!

Please take a look at our rules before applying.

Characters desperately wanted:Theodore Nott, Marietta Edgecomb, Hannah Abbot, Seamus Finnegan, Ernie MacMillan, Justin Finch-Fletchley and many others!

For specific player-driven plots we are very much in need of Neville Longbottom! The loyal DA crew would love to have him around. Specifically, Luna and Ginny have expressed missing their close friend and confidant!

Weasley Clan! We need you! Ron and Ginny are minus their parents and brothers. The Ministry's current position on Muggles raises the Weasley name in society and power.

Muggle-lovers, Muggleborns and Half-bloods are especially desired! The Ministry wants to give you MONEY! (war reparations). You are wanted by the Ministry for positions of power and influence. Aurors and other Ministry officials are very much encouraged! OCs welcome!

While not listed as available or desired, we are accepting applications for those returning from the dead. However, before applying, please email the mods to discuss possibilities. Thank you.

Are you growing tired of all those Post War games that seem to be popping up left and right now that the seventh book has been released? This game will take you back - back to when there were games where plot was the centric focus and things weren't always happy. Instead, they were serious, dark, and unknown. At Snitched, Voldemort was never defeated that night when Hogwarts went under siege. In fact, that night has yet to occur because the Death Eaters arrived at Bill and Fleur's wedding and captured many key Order members and guests in attendance. Some died, but most were imprisoned or fled somewhere safe. Since that fateful night, Voldemort has gained innumerable strength to the point where he is unstoppable. He owns the Ministry and the Wizarding World. Secretly, he owns the Muggle world and part of Europe where the Death Eaters flourish.

Now that his reign is no longer contested, he has set about putting his plans into order. Muggleborns, Halfbloods, and those that are traitors to the cause are imprisoned. Some might be allowed out as slaves, providing of course that there are Death Eaters and purebloods who want them. Those that have yet to be caught are forced to flee and hide. Those that are still pureblooded are allowed to live neutrally amongst society. They are not forced to take the mark, but they are required to obey the new law - Voldemort's Law. Their loyalty must be unwavering - if they support another cause, then they must be absolutely mum about it. But word to the wise: Don't say Voldemort's name; the word itself will surely lead to the capture of those responsible no matter what their status in society.

This game, which has gained 30 characters in two weeks, is not for the faint at heart. There will be dark themes and happiness will only be found in hidden corners or alleyways. There are those who will fight, who want Voldemort's reign to end, but doing so will take time, tears, blood, and sacrifice.
