Toujours Libérer is a role-play game based within the French Revolution. It is slash-friendly, focused on the intrigue and passions of the time. Play as any European nationality or an American observer, as a poet, politician or aristocrat. Even a serving maid. Will your character escape France and resettle in England or will they help French aristos to escape? Will they betray their ex-employers or will they risk all to keep them safe?

At the northern reaches of the New York metropolitan area, nestled in the state's scenic Orange County, Mercury Falls was founded 1685. Traditional, the residents pride themselves on the peaceful normality of the town. However, not everyone sees this as a good thing. Children, growing and graduating, move on to what they see as bigger and better things. With nothing to bring in new blood, Mercury Falls, having celebrated its tricentennial and then some, seemed to have been given a "use-by" date.
Mercury Falls High, once the pride of the town, was now decidedly average. In sports, they were win some, lose some. In academics, they fell comfortably somewhere in the middle of the achievement continuum. At least, that had always been the status quo, until about a year ago. The election of the new mayor brought about change. In the high school, grades started rising steadily, new classes were introduced and the Panthers had never had a better season. Grant money is rolling in and with it, new families and life. The town is once again flourishing, but for a troubling trend among certain students. As much as the town would like to deny and ignore it, at a disturbing rate, students are disappearing - going missing, committing suicide, running away.

A secret and powerful essence or remedy; an elixir.
Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, was hailed as the great champion who would save the wizarding world from Lord Voldemort. He did his best; he sought and destroyed all the horcruxes he could find before he came face to face with Lord Voldemort in the Great Battle, on 31 July 1998.
Many fell in the fight and both sides were all but destroyed. Harry Potter lay dead on the battlefield and Lord Voldemort had vanished. It seemed that victory, though bought at a terrible price, had come at last. Even as they grieved their fallen champion, the wizarding world began to rebuild from the ashes.
What they did not know was that Harry Potter had failed.
One horcrux yet remained.
And it remains still, nine years later, though none are any closer to uncovering where, or what, it is. A new generation has come to Hogwarts under the guardianship of Headmistress McGonagall, while outside the castle, the wizarding world's rebuilding efforts are ever being thwarted and interrupted by mysterious disappearances, deaths and other ominous misfortunes. The Death Eaters have returned and made their presence known; the wizarding world is in fear. Voldemort is on the rise once more, but there is no Harry Potter to save them this time. The Order now works diligently to seek out the final horcrux, hoping to find it before Lord Voldemort's followers.
The missing horcrux is the last hope for all.

Arcanum is canon-compliant through Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, but it diverges from the end of book 6 into an Alternate Universe. The game is set in the year 2007 and is played in a delayed-time format with an emphasis on third-person narrative threading. All canon characters are NPCs; Arcanum is original characters only. The game is plot and character driven and has a dark war-based plot. We are seeking active, creative players who wish to extend the story of the wizarding world beyond the books we know and love.
