[Effects of previous days might've vanished by now, but still, today won't be your luckiest day. Today there's an eclipse in the sky, and to those who are more used to magical worlds, it might be a more obvious sign that something will inevitably go wrong.

As the night falls, certain areas will become busier - forests and swamps where creatures crawl will see their numbers suddenly rise, and these extra animals and monsters need somewhere to go.

Even if you're in a safer area, you might run into one of them. Maybe something as harmless as a a deer, or something much more sinister waiting for you outside your house, walking into stores, in the various routes, even within lakes and the sea.

So watch out, because this will be a very long night.]

[It's funny. Though Akechi's approach so far in this situation has been smart, careful, calculated movements, there's no denying that he has a certain urge to cut it all loose and attack head on, especially seeing such a large-scale move on her part.

Kinda jealous? Maybe. Doesn't help having Loki always swimming around in his head itching for chaos and release, encouraging his messy thoughts. Whatever, his safe watching spot isn't so safe anymore anyway, so - he approaches.]

Not bad. Think they'll chance the fall to keep pushing forward?

[You are lucky she's kind of busy trying to keep the swarm of monsters back, because she's the type of mage that could very easily sense that presence inside your mind. And she might, eventually, if you don't know how to hide it from mind-readers

But for now, she's taking a moment to catch her breath, because no matter what a formidable witch she is, that's a trick that requires a lot of energy. In fact, if you care to notice, the grass is dry and dead around her feet in a big circle.]

Guess there's only one way to find out. [She's still looking at the monsters, not letting her guard down.]

[He has no concept of needing to hide it, nor the magic skill to do so, but. The presence simply is, just a constant part of him, and in fact paired with a second similar existence there too. One chaos, one justice. They chill around not fully manifesting unless he makes the call.

And so for now, he's leaving them there, as a last gamble card to play if he's ever left without another choice. It certainly does work in his favor that you're concentrating so intensely here, leaving him to notice the surroundings and keep his distance with caution. At least his sharp eyes can also serve to notice some of the smaller things from across the chasm... Enough to make a proper call out:]

There. The smaller pack toward those trees is scrambling to try - they may be more agile than the others.

[He readies his gun just in case they take the leap.]

[She's one familiar with chaos too. It's the force from within she drives her own magic, and a very dangerous one if not used correctly. She would know.

At your call, she moves her attention towards where you are pointing out, a huff off frustration coming out of her mouth even as she readies herself to use her magic again.]

Insistent vermin. [She makes a pushing motion with one of her hands, aiming to those monsters, sending something that looks like a flash of light and air, and that hits with enough force to make a portion of earth under them crumble, and senf a couple down the chasm.]

Not a bad idea. [But even so - he looks thoughtful, a frown thinking over the observations so far from today.] As things stand... the source may as well be "everywhere."

Between aggressive creatures and the droves of ordinary animals, it's the same effect widespread to both. I suspect most of these monsters were already living deep in our surroundings, and whatever this all is drew them out.

It's possible. If not forced, then at the very least they have little choice but to behave as such now that they've been driven in this rampage.

[Something he knows a little too well, thanks to Loki's ability to cause similar effects on other people and creatures alike. Not that he's used it in months, not here, but it's part of his train of thought in trying to decipher the present situation, anyhow.]

If done effectively, it certainly would beat out the need for a big enough trap to enclose so many, or the firepower to kill them all.

That does, however, assume the amount of - what, magic? To calm them wouldn't be just as much a cost as the other alternatives. [And well, he knows he's not the expert in that field--]

We'd have to defer to you and others who know better.
