['Tis the season.

The season for arrivals.

Such as snow, for example. Well, it's technically not the season, given it's summer, but at the same time it's the holiday season, and so it's definitely the season for it. It doesn't matter if you try to argue against this perfect logic, because in any case the snow will arrive - a subtle frost first, then a solid white blanket covering it all. From the mountains in the Crimson Woods to the prairies near Sunset Village, but particularly around the south, at Tourmaline City and the port areas; roofs, pathways, parks, ponds and gardens will turn into a winter fantasyland, ideal for snow angels, sliding on sleighs, skating.... or simply staying home, cursing the weather from within a blanket coccoon. In fact, if you were lacking winter clothes in your closet, it's a great time to go stock up in stores, which will temporarily carry coats and scarves. Or you could just grab hot chocolate that will be sold around every corner. Or maybe join in on the holiday cheer and hang fairy lights or garlands, set up a colorful tree in your home, even buy some last-minute gifts.

But that's not all that will be arriving, although this other visit might not be as obvious. It will start sneakily creeping up some tree branches, hanging from unaware lintels, even showing up floating above the heads of careless victims, until it achieves its goal. This tenacious invader of green leaves and red fruits won't disappear until those underneath it do the traditional kiss, so you better watch your surroundings. It's mistletoe season too, afterall, and these are as magical as they are capricious.

Will that be all that arrives? Maybe. Christmas and New Year are coming up, so these days will have many different things approaching at high speed.

Perhaps somewhere out there, there's a boat, approaching slowly but surely across the sea, and some music that can be heard stronger and stronger at a distance... What is it?

Well, you'll know when it arrives. But most likely it's nothing short of all your dreams come true.]

[It happens a little bit like a poem. One moment she was walking down a bridge back home, a return full of developments on her end yet perhaps comparatively short here, and now she's back on the rainbow bridge again, coming back with her suitcase in hand and a look of surprise at the memories that come flooding back as soon as she does. Out of habit she still glances to her side to see if Fern and Stark are walking beside her this time, but- nope, instead what's more telling is the charm at her wrist that certainly wasn't there during her last stay.

Ah. Well, she's alone for the moment, and now there's the little problem of all this snow to trudge through. Cold?? Nooo.]

... Was I truly gone for this long?

(Frieren had a short return back home and now is updated both as a resident and to Chapter 60 of the manga! She has an extra kid to miss this time.)

[It's an easy quest this time, especially since he's been on his own for some days now. Check the areas that are now covered most heavily with the snow, in case anyone got trapped in it unaware and is now freezing, or stuck, or needs any sort of help. Maybe they just want a hand with removing snow from the front of a building.]

[In any case, it means he's wandering around, and won't be too hard to spot again when she arrives by the same areas.]

[She'll see him before he sees her and in the process gets a few extra moments just to stare from her place at the foot of the bridge.]

He's still...

[It'd be embarrassing when we meet again. She'd borrowed his words and here they are again doing exactly that once more. It's a strange, warm feeling even though her body is cold all over. She's already trying to trudge in his direction, never mind that she doesn't make much headway in the snow.]

[She honestly might've been content just to watch him with the kids for a little longer despite not saying as much, and there's the urge immediately when he smiles to reach out and feel if he's tangible the way she did last time. That he speaks of her return is convincing enough- She nods in answer, waits for him to bridge the gap the rest of the way.]

So I am. ... Has it been some time? [It's hard to tell, particularly when something about this weather feels off, though she can't quite place why yet.]

[It's a small thing she may or may not know that she does, easily letting him take her hand, fingers curling to - hold on? Keep warm? Anything more goes unspoken if anything. She follows his lead, and tilts her head in consideration of their surroundings.]

Out of... Ah. It's all a spell at work. [Oh, duh. She's a mix of curious and impressed she didn't pick up on it - the differences in magics across worlds will take some getting used to again.]

Is it like this everywhere?
