shopping areas || áreas de shopping
[December starts, and this means... capitalism holidays! To aid with the noble goal of spending cash on silly presents, the world will link to a new area full of massive shopping mall. These will have just about anything you could need to give the perfect gift to someone special during the upcoming holidays, or to help decorate your likely rather empty homes with new garlands, snow globes and other things.

Does it feel silly to be placing snowy and winter-related items during what's clearly summer time? Welcome to southern hemisphere life!]

[These shops will not only let you find all sorts of odd items, you'll be able to trade in far more rare or weird ones as well - a shop might accept a lock of hair, for example, or even some drops of blood in exchange for a nice pile of money to spend around. Creepy, yes, but convenient, don't start with silly complaints about ethics or basic decency.]

[[A little shopping log! Go and decorate your houses or complain about the weather. || VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL. Post de compras! Vayan y decoren sus casitas o quéjense del clima.]]

Ah. I suppose this is something more of a norm where I come from.

They dedicate a large building to hold several stores in close proximity, often with food or entertainment to attract patrons en masse. And like these, decorations according to the season. [He motions a hand at some of the holiday stuff around, glittering lights, greens and reds.]

[Ohh ahh. He likes learning about these unknown locations and their costumes.]

... I wonder why they're all snowy like this. [Since it's hot outside.]

[Likewise Akechi likes to blahblahblah talk, even if he won't always admit to that fact sincerely.]

It's a fair question. The season this particular celebration takes place during is ordinarily attributed to winter-time - cold, snow and all the rest.

Frankly, it's a commercial tactic at most. Some attempt to keep a uniform look despite how much the weather and seasons vary by where on Earth people reside. [He brushes his fingers over a snow globe on display- not picking it up or anything, just an absent gesture or perhaps as an example.]

... Just like here, where it's the opposite entirely.

[He can listen with interest, ohh.]

So they wish to mantain a tradition, even when it's more difficult to do so. [How admirable!1! or something like that.]

[No, Himmel is a marketing scheme!! Put your earnest curious hero faces away. In the spirit of polite pretense though, Akechi just waves a hand yeah yeah that.]

Stubborn, isn't it? Then again, tradition wouldn't be the persistent thing that it is otherwise.

So here we are.

I'm certainly counting on traditions to be. [Persistent, that is. He has Plans for the future.]

[The metaphorical confused question mark lights up briefly as a look on Akechi's face, before he sort of pieces the thought together to an extent, at least as he thinks he gets it.]

What, of heroic tales to be sung far and wide?

[Maybe this is the kind of thing that would make you expect a pretty speech, and yet...]

Precisely. And tales of my good-looks, of course. [A most important detail.]

[........ Wat.]

I - guess so? If it's up to the public at large, then details of... that sort are bound to be ridiculously embellished at best.

Good. [YEP.] Then we won't live on in the memory of a single person. And that way she won't have to feel lonely. [Maybe it's about more than just his sparkly good-looks, afterall.]

[Huh.]

You mean that companion of yours. Miss Frieren, wasn't it?

[It's not very hard to piece together a guess for who. The rest of the statement is more of a question to consider, although what comes out isn't as much about hard facts as it could be coming from Goro. Maybe he even surprises himself a little in asking as much.]

Is that really something you'd entrust to the memory of others to carry? Skewed and all?

[Nods to the first question, because yes it's not hard to figure out who he's always thinking of. To the other one, well...]

It can't be helped if it ends up being different from the real event. But it's the intention that matters most, isn't it? [A ~feeling~ that carries through time.]
