Warnings: Some zombie violence, Chase's language

Chase hadn't been forthright about this with his friends just yet, but staying at home and riding the whole zombie fiasco from his couch had been something that he had tried for barely a day before he got bored and bolted out the door. He had given off a hint here and there that he was out of the house more often than not, but he couldn't help it. Watching the news was something that he would have never dreamed himself doing back home, but here, right now, it was almost necessary just to keep updated on how shitty things were right now in Portland. Not that it took much to know that, all he had to do was look out his window, or actually step outside, but whatever. Watching the news made him see how many people were out in the street, or how many of them were trapped, and while Chase wasn't officially a superhero, he had enough desire to help out and do some good to just bounce around the city, trying to help out those he could.

Sometimes he was even able to do so, actually. The fistigons helped in containing the zombies by creating barriers of flames whenever necessary while he helped people out of their homes, or helping them get to one of the shelters. The whole situation he had found himself in with his friends back home and running away from their parents had settled a bad taste in his mouth when it came to Captain America in general, but innocent people needed assistance, so he helped out in getting people to his gym. He didn't stay long, never enough for someone to ask him who he was or why he was doing all this, but a) he didn't want someone to flip out about what they considered a kid trying to save the day and b) he really didn't want Captain America to catch him doing all this. He wasn't sure what he'd say, or do, and nope, he just kept to himself whenever he was near the shelters, and continued doing his own thing.

It wasn't until he was out tonight, though, that he realized just how long he had been out for. Not because he was tired, even if he could feel hints of his body craving a chance to just sit, and not because he was hungry, even if he could probably eat five bacon cheeseburgers and be totally okay with it, but because the power of his flamethrowers were dying down. The gauntlets felt fine as he wore them, and he even helped a family get from their house to their car safely after stopping a few zombies from getting in the way, but as they drove away and Chase tried to set up a safe barrier between himself and the damn things as they turned their attention to him, he realized that the fistigons were puttering out. He needed to let them recharge for a few hours, and he knew it, but standing out in the street wasn't going to do him any good. Especially since running home without stumbling into more zombies was literally impossible.

But, it didn't mean he didn't have to try, so as soon as he noticed how the gauntlets were barely working, he began to run. Any zombies that got in his way were dodged as best as he could, or he'd punch them with the gauntlets, or he'd ram his shoulder against their bodies to knock them down how he used to push guys off while playing sports, but he didn't slow down to wait and see just how well that had worked. He needed to get home and let the flamethrowers recharge, and damn it, he should have probably watched the time a little better, but well, Chase was impulsive at best and unpredictable at worst. Planning wasn't exactly his specialty.

He wasn't sure what street he was on when he realized he was being trailed for a couple of zombies. Which would have been fine and even easy to outrun, but just as he glanced over his shoulder to notice them, he bumped smackdab into another one that made a grab at him and had come out of some bushes he hadn't seen. Chase immediately let out a startled string of curses that seemed to echo down the empty street as he toppled over in his attempt to get away from the freaky looking dead thing that was moaning and reaching for him, and he held out his hands as he momentarily forgot about the fact that his weapon of choice was currently gone right now.

"Son of a bitch," Chase groaned, but quickly recovered as the zombie reached for him again, and instead of using flames as his defense, he shifted his position so he could kick it in the chest and send it stumbling back. He had enough sports training to have quick reflexes, and for now that was good enough. He had bought himself enough time to scramble up to his feet, cursing under his breath again as he couldn't help but wonder if maybe leaving the house had been a bad idea. Maybe next time he'd just get himself an alarm to remind himself to get home, but he just hoped he'd have a chance to get home in one piece in order to do so.

Malia wasn't totally comfortable with leaving her house after Barry had fainted on her while they had faced that zombie horde outside of the police station. But Ruby was with Barry and that made her feel better. She was hoping Ruby would do something adult like about the whole fainting thing and get to the bottom of it. Malia knew she was just a kid and while every day she grew up a little more, she needed an adult to deal with some adult situations. She would help support Barry any way that she could but she knew he needed Ruby right now.

She was watching the perimeter of the house. Normally she would change into a full on coyote for that but right now she was still in girl form. She could quickly change at a moment's notice if she really wanted to but she knew if she wanted to get extra good at the half transformation than she would have to practice like Scott said. So when the guy she vaguely recognized from the network went running past with zombies hot on his heels, Malia took notice.

She immediately took off and her eyes glowed a bright brilliant blue. Beta blue. They were surrounding him now and Malia's claws extended as she swiped at the infected. The claws should have torn them to shreds, should have mortally wounded them but they seemed almost unaffected. They were only knocked down momentarily before they got back up, still moaning and groaning.

"Hey, are you okay?!" she shouted at Chase as one of the zombies grabbed her by her hair. Okay, she was really getting sick of that! The last ones had been tearing at her fur and her tail when she had been fully transformed. Now it was her hair. With a growl she spun around and sliced it's throat clean open before it fell to the ground with a thud.

"There's too many of them. We should get back to my house!" She tried to point but one of the infected grabbed her arm and she had to swing him wildly away from her until he let go and went flying into the pavement. She didn't even think about the fact that her face had transformed and she was talking around her fangs.

"Yeah, I'm okay!" He thought so, anyway. It was hard to recognize Malia considering her facial features, but Chase wasn't scared. As he caught sight of how her face had changed, he stared at her in awe for a moment, as if taking in everything that he had never seen before. The way her face had shifted, the fangs, those bright blue eyes. Was that normal? He didm't know, but he didn't care. She had run out to help him, and that alone spoke volumes of her. And not just that, but she was super badass as she tore through the zombie's throat to get rid of it.

Her words clicked, though, and he blinked as he nodded, snapping back to reality. Right. They needed to get away. The zombie that Malia had shaken off of her was already beginning to crawl back towards her, but before it could reach her, he ran over and kicked it in the head as hard as he could, sending the zombie back down. Even if he still had his gauntlets on, Chase reached for her hand and began pulling her away, even if she was really the one guiding him back to where her house was.

Zombies tried to get in the way, though, which was the only reason why Chase ultimately let go of her hand so that he could swing and hit as they ran. The fistigons weren't working, but this was the best thing he could do right now and he refused to let Malia get hurt because of him. She could hold her own, and between the two of them it was easier than it had been to outrun the zombies before they ran towards the house where Malia lived.

Once the door was shut behind them, Chase was out of breath but he couldn't help but chuckle, more from relief than anything else. "Well that was fun."

She looked up at Chase in surprise when he took her hand. Nobody had ever done that before, at least not like he had. And with no reservations at all about grabbing the hand that had claws extended from it a moment ago. Her face was still distorted, her eyes a blaring blue but he took her hand anyway and his was warm in hers and she liked that.

Holding hands wasn't really working out and Malia needed her claws anyway. She didn't like it when Chase let go but it was necessary. Her claws immediately extended and she began slicing into more flesh, causing more pain for creatures that couldn't seem to feel pain at all anymore. They were dead or maybe they weren't but Malia didn't have to deal with moral dilemmas like that. They were a threat to her and the people she cared about. And while Chase was technically a stranger, she thought he was cute and shouldn't get chewed up or end up chewing on someone else.

It didn't help much that it had started to rain buckets outside. It was had been a rainy few days and every day seemed worse. As if the stench of death hanging so heavily in the air wasn't depressing as it was, there was the added stress of the crappy weather. Malia considered Portland home but she did miss the weather in Beacon Hills.

By the time she slammed the door shut, they were both drenched. She felt the icy cold hand of dread wrap around her as she quickly boarded the door back up so nothing could get in if she happened to get distracted. But Malia had even taken to sleeping on the sofa because she had a good view of the door from it. And since Barry had been so busy at work, that meant that the living room looked like a coyote had been living there. Discarded cereal boxes, a nest of blankets and a few Lucky Charms scattered on the carpet made it pretty obvious who had been living there.

"Are you cold?" she asked Chase. Malia was cold, her teeth visibly chattering. "I can get you something to wear from Roy." He wouldn't mind and even if he did, she didn't care. She and Roy had a good roommate relationship but they often fought like siblings.

"Yeah, if you don't mind, that'd be cool." Chase didn't know Roy, but if Malia was offering to let him borrow his clothes, he wasn't shy enough to say no. "I can wait 'til you change, though." Especially since her teeth were chattering. Chase was cold, but he wasn't as cold as she seemed to be. That was probably also because he was still riding that adrenaline high that he could feel through his system, or so he guessed.

When she walked away to change, Chase walked over to the entrance of the living room and couldn't help but grin at the sight. He was no stranger to messes, his room was already starting to look like a destruction zone, and right now her living room just looked like somewhere he'd hang out in. The only reason he didn't walk further into the house was to not drip all over the carpet, and as he raked his hair back through his fingers, he just sighed as he finally felt himself slowly relax. The zombies were an enemy that he never expected to encounter, and he had no idea what the hell to even believe about that, but right now he was just glad to have a break from it all.

At the sound of footsteps, he turned towards her and smiled. His hair was generally messy lately, but right now since it was wet it was sticking up everywhere. "Thanks for helping me out there, by the way. You're kind of a badass, aren't you?" His words were said with a smirk, although he was completely serious about it and the admiration for it was obvious in his eyes. "I need to let these recharge," he said as he held up his hands, still wearing the fistigons. "You mind if I chill here for a little while?"

She smiled under the glow of his praise at being a badass. Malia didn't think of herself that way. Mostly she thought of herself as a wild thing, not really belonging in one world or the other but kind of stuck in limbo, straddling two worlds. She just happened to be attached to the people in this one.

She had already changed into a pair of shorts and a tshirt and hoodie. Her wet blonde hair hung in loose waves down her back. She handed Chase a towel and a pile of Roy's clothing. Malia made sure it was the clean clothing and not the dirty clothing. She could tell by the way they smelled. Roy and Chase were around the same size so his clothes should fit.

"The bathroom is back there," she pointed after a minute. She realized that not everyone was comfortable dropping down to the buff in front of a stranger. Malia had no hang ups when it came to nudity but everyone else seemed to. It had taken Malia's friends a little while to sort of get used to that particular facet of her personality.

"And you can chill here. You can chill here as long as you have to." She didn't know what those things were or how he would recharge them but she didn't mind if he stayed to hang out. She twisted around and looked down the hallway into the bathroom where Chase had taken off his shirt. Her dark eyes studied him in the doorway and she bit down on her lower lip. Nope. She didn't mind if he stayed at all.

She quickly brushed all the cereal and stuff off the couch so he could sit down next to her. The rest of the place was still a mess of blankets and pillows but at least the seat was clean now. He would have a place to recharge whatever he needed to recharge.

"Hi." She smiled when he came back. "I'm Malia. I probably should have said that before." She was still getting used to the human thing but she thought she had made a lot of progress. "You look better in Roy's clothes than he does." She grinned at him from the couch where she was sitting. Roy, of course, would protest but he wasn't here so who cared?

Chase didn't waste time in taking off the gauntlets and changing clothes. He left his wet clothes hanging on the towel rack in the bathroom and hoped that no one else she lived with would mind that he was there. And that his clothes were drying in the bathroom, but she had said she didn't mind, so whatever. That, to him, was what mattered.

Taking the fistigons back with him, he set them on the floor once he walked back to the living room. They wouldn't work unless someone put them on, and even then they wouldn't know how to use them anyway, so it wouldn't matter if they were just there. And, even if it did matter, he probably would have forgotten when Malia smiled over at him. To him it was crazy how different she seemed without the fangs and the blue eyes and everything else, but for him there was beauty to both, anyway. He wondered if she realized that, but for now he didn't say anything.

"You think so?" He grinned and adjusted the shirt he was now wearing, as if playfully modeling for a moment before sitting down next to her. "Dude, it's cool. The zombies didn't really let us do the whole proper introduction, huh?" He adjusted his position so he could face her better. "Hi, Malia. I'm Chase." He nodded towards to the living room around them, looking comfortable enough to prove that he didn't mind the mess they were surrounded by. "This is a pretty cool set up. Do you and Roy live here alone?"

He couldn't help but wonder if Roy was her roommate, her friend, family, or...something else, but he tried to make his question sound as casual as possible.

"No. Our friend Barry lives here too," she said. She didn't really think it was weird that she lived with two grown men that she had no actually family ties too. She also did not have a romantic relationship with either of them. To Malia they were just like family though, the closest thing she knew. Them and Derek and Cora and she guessed now Laura too. But Barry took care of Malia. He always made sure she had everything she needed for school and to just get by and was really the only reason she hadn't had to get a job yet.

"What are those things?" she said as she pointed to the fistigons. They had already worn off before she had come into the picture and she hadn't seen them in action. But they were obviously important and they had obviously failed Chase when he needed them most. Malia supposed she was glad her weapons were built in. Fangs and claws didn't need to be turned on, they were just a part of her. But the transformation did take a modicum of control.

She scooted over on the couch to make room for Chase so he could sit down too. She had after all, gone to the trouble of brushing all of the crumbs off of the cushions for him. The least he could do was sit on them. When he did, Malia inhaled deeply. He smelled really really good. A good kind of good too. Like chocolate or fresh cut grass but sexier. Not the bad kind of good like old wet cardboard. She wondered if he smelled good on purpose just to be distracting.

"Normally I'd say we could order a pizza but I don't think Dominos is delivering anymore. Are you hungry?" Malia wasn't much of a cook. Mostly she ate cereal when Barry or Roy weren't cooking anything and they weren't ordering in. She could try though. How hard could it be anyway? But they also had lots of snacks which was probably a less dangerous bet.

"Those? Oh, they're my-- Well, they're called fistigons. Weird name, I know, but I didn't pick it." Chase smiled almost sheepishly and realized at that point that he hadn't really had to explain what his gauntlets were to anyone that wasn't already in the group. The vampire douchebag Alex had taken in didn't count as far as he was concerned.

He didn't mind explaining them to Malia, though, even if he barely knew what they were and what they could really do. In the back of his mind he could imagine his dad's ridiculing tone taunting him, saying how he was surprised he had figured shit out on his own, but he ignored it as he focused on Malia and those dark eyes of hers. "They're flame throwers when they're, you know, not dead. They're pretty damn great, actually. When they're back to normal I can show you."

There was some sort of relief that settled when he heard that Roy and Barry were her friends, but he didn't show it outright. It was impossible to miss how cute Malia was, and could kick ass to boot? Yeah, he definitely didn't have a problem showing her how his gauntlets worked. Sitting there close to her, the rain pouring outside and just chilling, it was nice. Super nice, actually. After chasing zombies around and trying to do his share to help Portland, it was nice to just...do this. Relax, even if it was just for a little while.

Her mention of food made him blink and realize that, shit, he hadn't eaten in a while. Being holed up in a cave with his friends back home had helped in curving his usually out of control appetite, but right now it was impossible to miss the growl his stomach gave out in response. He tried to keep a straight face, but he couldn't stop himself from snickering at himself as he felt his cheeks redden. "I'm not the freeloader type, I promise. But if you have something to snack on, that'd be awesome. When the whole zombie thing dies down I'll make it up to you, I promise."

She didn't completely understand the idea of the fistigons or how they worked but she liked flame throwers. She hadn't used one herself but she had seen other people using them on TV and stuff and she thought they looked cool. Chase had gauntlets that let him make fire apparently and Malia thought that was pretty cool. She liked her claws better though because they didn't really need recharging.

"I'm a freeloader," she said with a smile. "Barry takes care of me. I used to live in the woods when I first got here but then Barry convinced me to move in with him." And it had been a big step for both of them. Malia had to relearn how to live in a house again. At the time, Barry suffered from terrible allergies and Malia was constantly dragging garbage and nature into the house. She had cleaned up her act a lot since then and the blanket covered living room was a vast improvement from the nest she had once built in her bedroom.

"But we have snacks. Come on." This time she took his hand and she pulled him to his feet. She was pretty strong, being a coyote and all, and she didn't know how strong Chase would be. She pulled him up from the couch maybe a little too fast and a little too hard but she didn't seem to notice. She tugged him towards the pantry and opened the door.

The cupboard was teeming with junk food. As a coyote, Malia could eat just about anything and it didn't really effect her. She didn't get sick the way that humans did either. Because of that, Malia could eat whatever she wanted. They had actually been pretty well stocked for the zombie apocalypse. It was the scavenger in Malia that had made sure that they would have enough supplies to sustain them for awhile.

"Fritos, ding dongs, microwave mac and cheese. What are you in the mood for?" Malia spun around cutely and held her arms out like she was Vanna White or something, displaying food instead of all those letters on the board. She felt a little silly but not embarrassed, never embarrassed.

"You can stay here for as long as you want," she said. "It's too dangerous to go back outside. You should stay here." And keep smelling so distracting and good. Malia wasn't really very good at keeping her feelings on the inside, usually she wore them on the outside. So she turned and went back into the living room with a box of Cracker Jacks.

"What, like camping or something? I lived in this hideout thing underground for a while before I came here. That was pretty fun." In other words, he didn't judge if that was her cup of tea. Although he found himself glad that this Barry guy had convinced her to move in with him, especially when Portland was as crazy as he kept reading and seeing. He didn't know Malia for long at all, but the thought of her living outside on her own wasn't something that settled well with him. She was obviously perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but still. The protective side of him came out before he could stop it, especially when she had saved his ass in the first place.

The way she pulled him off the couch got a small startled sound of surprise that came out like a chuckle, but he didn't take his hand away from her. Hell, he didn't even mind being pulled by her; if anything, he just found himself grinning. Even more so when she spun around in the kitchen. "Oh wow. You weren't kidding about snacks, this is awesome."

It was hard to choose what to grab, but settled with a bag of Fritos and beef jerky. Technically it was protein, right? That could be somewhat healthy, maybe. He was a teenager, though, and healthy was the last thing on his mind so he just grabbed his snacks and joined her back in the living room.

"I'll probably have to go at some point to check on my friends and stuff, but I'll hang out here for a while if you don't mind." He settled back on the couch, sitting right by her again, and after taking a strip of jerky he settled the bag between them in case she wanted some, too.

"So, can I ask you something? That change your face made, that's because of the coyote?" Chase's tone was curious, not judging and clearly not afraid of her and what he had seen. The change in the facial features, the fangs, even the claws - they were different, but he wasn't scared. "'cause that's pretty cool, I've never seen anything like that."

She didn't say anything when he mentioned going to check on his friends. She understood because she had gone out after Barry when she was supposed to stay inside the house. Sometimes you had to do stuff like that when it came to protecting the people you cared about. If Chase could figure out a way out of here to find his friends than she would be happy for him. Until then, she thought he probably wasn't going to be going anywhere until this horde of zombies moved on.

"I'm a werecoyote. Sometimes I change only halfway, like you saw tonight but I prefer to change all the way. I was living as a coyote in the woods when Barry convinced me to move in with him. I lived as a coyote in the woods for a long actually back home. Eight years." She shrugged like it was no big deal. To her, it really was no big deal. The big deal was the fact that she had killed her mother and her baby sister. That was the big deal. The other big deal was that they weren't even her mother or her sister. Like Chase, Malia's father was incredibly evil.

"You think it's cool?" She gave him a dubious look. Most people found Malia strange, almost detrimentally so. She was far behind her classmates when it came to not only curriculum but social maturity. Most people didn't think Malia being a coyote was cool, most people thought it was weird. Some people merely accepted it for what it was and Chase thought it was cool. She smiled at him. He was getting cuter by the second.

"Tell me more about your fistigons," she said. "How did you get them? Are they magical?" She didn't think flamethrowers were magical but she doubted these were simple flamethrowers. There had to be something extra special about them from the way Chase treated them. "Why do they have to recharge? Are they the reason you had to get a hideout?" Malia was very curious and had a lot of questions. She wasn't usually this interested in everyone she met but she liked Chase a lot already.

She liked him a lot actually. She had to remind herself to hold back. This wasn't the animal kingdom. She couldn't just jump on him. Although he was a teenage boy, so maybe she could. She fidgeted uncomfortably and waited for Chase to tell her his story even though she had only given him the bare bones of hers.

"Of course I think it's cool. A werecoyote and you can turn into an actual coyote? I think that's awesome." Chase didn't know how the whole thing worked, but he didn't have to pretend to be telling the truth because Malia would be able to tell that he was being honest. There was a part of him that would always be a little jealous of the fact that some of his friends had the badass super powers. Molly was wicked strong, Karolina could fly and glowed like an angel, and Nico had her magic. They each had their downfalls, but it was still something. Chase didn't have superpowers. He had goggles that he had forgotten in his room before leaving earlier, and the fistigons. He was clever, but he wasn't always the smartest, and he had his gauntlets but that was pretty much it.

He didn't say that part, though. It surprised him to hear that Malia had lived in the woods before for eight YEARS, but he just raised his eyebrows at that. More in surprise than anything else. Weren't her parents worried? Unless she had evil parents too, he wondered, and she had run away, too. Huh. For someone that generally had no filter, for now he managed to keep his mouth shut and didn't ask that. It probably wouldn't last long, but at least he made an effort at not being rude. Malia was already doing a lot to help him, the last thing he wanted to do was upset her or something.

The question of the fistigons made him pause in mid chew, but he just shrugged. "My parents made them. I found them and took them. They're geniuses, and they made them have this kind of energy source that just recharges or something. I don't know for sure, but thankfully I don't have to keep 'em plugged into a gasoline thing or anything. And I can control the flames, I just have to really concentrate on it. It's pretty cool."

He smiled at her, shaking his head. "Nope, the hideout was for another reason. I just liked to chill there for a while on my own sometimes." When life at home had been rough. When his dad would hit him and Chase got brave enough to storm out of the house. When he just wanted to disappear. That was why he had asked for an unmarked white van, why he had found his secret spot. For all of Chase's charm and personality, he used it to hide how often he wanted to just disappear, but he was used to masking that part of himself pretty well. His parents had been well recognized scientists, who would have believed the dumb kid that wanted to just run away from home long before he and his friends had discovered their parents' secrets?

Right now he didn't want to be alone, though. Malia was nice, and beautiful, and he was thankful even more now for the fact that she had seen him about to get his ass munched on by zombies.

"What do you like to do? When you're not being a coyote or saving a guy's ass from becoming zombie chow, I mean."

"I dunno." Malia shrugged her slim shoulders. "I hang out with my friends. I went to Trampoline World with Kira and Liam recently. You know, before all the zombies and stuff started. I like to watch TV and movies are good too. I like to experiment with music. I missed a lot of music while I was living in the woods so now I'm listening to a little bit of everything so I can catch up. I like most of it but some of it I like more than others. Right now she was on a big Tom Petty kick.

"I go to school but that's not really fun. At least, the school part isn't fun. I like seeing my friends though and I like watching them play lacrosse. Do you go to school? Maybe you could sit with us at lunch or something."

When Malia first started school, nobody wanted her to sit with them at lunch. She had gone to Scott to ask him to come back to school just so she would have some friends instead of being the weird outcast. Not only did Scott come back to school but he recruited Allison and Isaac and the rest of the pack to come back too. Now Malia had a big circle of friends and she felt really good about that.

Malia didn't actually have a lot of down time in Portland. Especially this month. Usually the wormhole only picked on them for a few days but this zombie stuff didn't seem to be letting up any time soon. Even before then there was always some kind of crisis going on that needed her attention.

"I like hanging out and trying new stuff." She smiled. "I like saving cute boys from being eaten by zombies." Yes, she had just said he was cute. Crisis or not, there had to be room for a little fun. "What do you like?"

"Trampoline World? I don't think I've ever been there." He wondered if she'd want to go with him some time, but wasn't sure if that'd sound too forward if he asked. Generally he was good at this, he was the jock that was never really shy around girls, but he caught himself chewing on his bottom lip for a second as he wondered if she'd want to hang out with him after the zombies went away. If they went away. She was insistent on him not needing to go, that he could stay, so that was a good sign, right? He thought so. He hoped so, anyway.

The mention of school made him scratch the back of his neck, although he brightened at the mention of lacrosse. "I haven't even looked into it, when I got here school was already closed down. But, uh, yeah, I can go. I mean, I'll probably go. I have to finish high school, anyway. And they have lacrosse? You can come watch me play, too, if you want." Chase wasn't looking forward to the academic aspect of school, he had never put enough effort into his schooling, but the rest? The rest, he was a pro in. He could socialize, he loved being on the school teams. Before he had been doubtful he'd go back to school if he wasn't forced to, but...was it weird to being open to the possibility now that Malia had mentioned that she was there?

Whatever thought could have been running through his head disappeared when she said she liked saving cute boys from zombies, and he grinned at once. Yeah, he was definitely going to be checking out the high school Karolina was going to and hope that Malia was in it, too.

"Well, I like being saved by beautiful girls before I get eaten by zombies," he answered easily, his smile growing even wider still as he leaned slightly closer towards her. "I barely got here, so I haven't really explored much here, but I like sports. A lot. I used to play football and lacrosse back home. I like TV and movies, and when I had my van, I liked to just drive around or go down to the beach. I can't wait 'til they open up the exit out of the city, I want to check out the beaches around here. We could go, if you want."

There it was. The suggestion to hang out more than just here and now. Sure, the zombies were an annoyance they had to deal with, and it was hard to know whether or not that'd ever go away, but the possibility was always good.

Now that he was sitting closer by her, he noticed a crumb that had probably gotten into her hair while she had been frantically cleaning the couch, and he motioned towards it. "You have a..." He trailed off, his smile softening, but before he could finish his sentence, he found himself reaching over to help her take care of it. It put her closer to her still, and after taking off the crumb and flinging it towards the floor, his thumb brushed against the side of her jaw. "So...for trying new stuff. Can that include more stuff with that cute boy you saved from being eaten by zombies?"

It was impulsive, and it was probably fast, but he was a teenager. He couldn't help it, and he just hoped Malia wouldn't, either.

Malia just watched him in surprise. It wasn't as if he was the first guy ever to hit on her. It was just he was the first guy to ever hit on her after seeing her monster face. He was the first guy to ever hit on her and mean it after talking to her for a little while and seeing how weird she was. Malia's only experiences with anything were romantic were wasting time with Stiles in a mental hospital while waiting for an evil kitsune to possess him and an alcohol fueled makeout session with her alpha. There was a reason for that. Boys thought she was weird. They flocked to her at first when they saw the legs and the blonde hair but then they went away.

Chase, on other hand, was not only super cute but still seemed to like her even though he had seen her half turned ugly coyote face and had been in her presence long enough to notice how off she could be.

Malia wasn't just an impulsive teenager, she was a wild girl. There was no such thing as moving too fast in her world. In her world you had to take what you wanted quickly before it became someone else's treasure.

She jumped on top of Chase aggressively and pressed her mouth to his, tongue exploring the cavern of his mouth as her hands pressed against all that hard muscle under Roy's shirt. If he tried to push her away, she would back off instantly but Malia had been wanting to do this for too long. Her teenage hormones were pumping hard and she would see happy couples together, around her. Like Barry and Ruby and Scott and Isaac and Stiles and Aria. Even Roy had Thea to angst over. She watched them on television too and sometimes late at night, when Barry was at work and Roy was out doing whatever Roy did, she would secretly turn on the cable channels that played "those kind of movies" after midnight.

Malia was a curious little mind and she wanted to know what all the moaning and groaning was about. She wasn't planning to have sex with Chase right then and there on the couch, though tempting. But she could feel another rush as she rubbed up against him, discovering new feelings for the first time. Malia was hooked on a feeling. One she would begin to fully explore herself after Chase left for the night.

Malia was very into trying more stuff with that cute boy she saved from being eaten by zombies.

Chase wasn't sure what the look of surprise was for, because to him it was impossible to believe that someone wouldn't think of her as cool or that they wouldn't want to hang out with her, but the look on his face didn't look away. The way he took her in, the way he noticed every freckle, every curve on her face.

Before he could say anything, though, she was jumping on him and kissing him. Chase didn't protest, and he sure as hell didn't push her away; instead, he held onto her and kissed her right back just as wildly. Malia wasn't the first girl that he was making out with, but she was the first one that didn't seem to have any reservations about taking charge of the situation, and he liked that. A lot, actually, and it was just easy to follow her lead.

He was just in the process of kissing her deeper still when he felt the way she rubbed up against him, and it drove his own teenage hormones in overdrive. As a hand rested on her hip, he gave her a squeeze and he used his free hand to rest it behind her neck and bring her in closer. She tasted like rain and the Cracker Jacks she had been eating earlier, and Malia wasn't the only one that wasn't the only one that was hooked. Chase was getting lost in the taste of her lips, and that was perfectly fine with him.

As his lungs demanded air, he pulled back just enough to catch his breath but he still didn't let go of her. That blonde hair of hers was cascading down as he looked up at her, and he grinned crookedly up at her as he brushed her hair back. "Man, you're beautiful."
