Hannah hadn't realized she wasn't alone in the library - most people would have said something by then, usually to her - and she jumped in surprise. Then immediately scowled, because Hannah did not like being surprised. It was a very bad idea to try, because she typically reacted to surprises with punches. In this case, however, there was no one to punch - or rather, he was too far away. "Oh, for Christ's sake," she snapped irritably, head turning in the direction the voice had come from. "It's a fucking library. Aren't people supposed to be quiet up in these bitches?"
Sure, it wasn't a public library - it was just a room with a shit ton of books in a big weird house, but that fact didn't matter to Hannah. Call it a library, rules applied. Except to her, when she was giving someone else shit for breaking them. "And no fucking shit a knife to the gut would hurt. It's a knife. In the gut. A knife just about anywhere would hurt unless you're a quadriplegic or maybe high out of your fucking mind."
