Who: Audrey and Nate
Where: Linen closet
When: Day 5; early evening
Being hot wasn't really new to Nate. He'd never been out of the state of Nevada until, presumably, being shipped off to who-knows-where for the experiment he was currently taking part of, and his cell in prison hadn't had much of a controlled atmosphere. Suffice it to say, he was no stranger to being uncomfortable. However, even in the dead of winter, being trapped in a stuffy, confined space that was being rapidly heated was unpleasant enough for him to want to attempt to seek relief.
Nate didn't bother to put his shirt on before he exited his room, heading for a very specific place: the linen closet-slash-laundry room. He knew from experience that leaning against cool objects could help with the heat, and he considered (perhaps foolishly) the laundry room more sanitary than lying down on his bathroom floor, even though only his own feet had touched the latter. The cooling effect was instant as his bare back hit the ground, and Nate spread his arms out on either side of himself, staring at the ceiling. He realized after a boring minute that he should have brought his book, but it was too much effort to get up.
Instead, he thought about the experiment, and how B would be let loose soon. It was only a matter of days. Nate still didn't have a strategy, and at that point he was pretty sure he was just going to fly by the seat of his pants, but that was what he always did. Anything that involved planning inevitably became too heavy a weight for him to shoulder. But he'd make it work ... since he had to.
