Water Exercise
Who: Delaney and Chris
When: mid-morning
Where: the pool
Delaney spent the first little while after getting up checking out the computers and discovering that three of the experiment's participants had left. Three, already? She could understand some medical issue coming up that required attention, but other than that, why would anyone want to quit this soon? To her, this was like an all-expenses-paid vacation at a resort, and she was having a terrific time. She was insanely curious as to what had happened, but there were no answers to it, and all she could do was wonder and feel mild regret that she hadn't had the chance to get to know the people who'd left. Meeting new people was one of the best things ever.
From the computer desk she wandered over to the window to look outside. Hey, surprise, more snow! It had been a novelty at first to see the white stuff falling from the sky, but here on Day Four, it wasn't quite so much. What was a girl to do when the weather outside resembled Antarctica and she was beginning to feel restless for some physical activity? The pool, of course, since she hadn't checked it out yet. That decided, she washed up, combed out her long, bedheaded fall of russet hair and pondered the five bathing suits she'd brought with her. Not the black or the hunter green, because those would make her skin look too pale. Leopard-print bikini? Nah, that one was best for a pool event when she didn't actually plan to swim, preferably paired with hooker heels. That left silver and blue, and since the silver was a one-piece, she went for the blue bikini that was the color of a piece of night sky. Silver flip-flops and a black cover-up later, she was ready to go.
Delaney stepped outside her door and locked up, then stopped to thread her key through the fine chain she was wearing around her neck. There, all set. For a few seconds, she pondered stopping and seeing if Rupert wanted to go with her, but maybe that wasn't the best idea. She'd hate for him to have some kind of cardiac incident from nervousness and for Med-Evac to have to come in and cart him away the way they did in Survivor, except here they wouldn't come out of the bushes. She had no idea from where they'd come. Smiling to herself, she headed down the stairs from three to two, from two to the main floor and then down to the basement. The sound of splashing led to the pool area, and that meant somebody was already in there, swimming, She ducked into the women's locker room to grab a towel and then went back out to the pool, placing her towel on a lounge chair and pulling off her cover-up as she gazed over to the water to see what she could see.
