The last few days had been some of the longest she had faced since double Potions with the Gryffindors. Life had most certainly been simpler then. When Jules had arrived in Clint's hut, all of three years old, Daphne hadn't put much thought into it. If anything, she'd been concerned about how Clint was going to handle having her removed from the Island after the allotted time had expired ... only to find herself the one at a loss facing a full grown Jules who had left her reeling with only a single word.
She'd had her moment to freak out. She'd spent the night of Jules arrival drinking wine with her sister, discussing the whole thing. She felt a little guilty with having subjected Astoria to another one of her freak outs, but it had been necessary. With that out of the way, she could focus on trying to determine how she was going to handle this. It was easy for her to think of it as another curse she needed to break. There were regimented steps to follow and while the actions, perhaps, didn't correspond with her current situation, the structure of it helped to put her at ease.
Or as much at ease as she could be while waiting for Jules to arrive at the diner for their scheduled lunch. Idly stirring the straw around in her iced tea, listening to the ice clink off the glass, Daphne considered the impending meeting. There hadn't been a lesson on how to present yourself to a future daughter you'd just found out about in her Mother's guide to being a Proper Pureblood, so she'd just thrown on her usual cut offs and a loose t-shirt she'd knotted at the side, her long hair tied up in a messy bun to keep it off her neck. It wasn't anything close to proper, she supposed, but she had other things on her mind beside the serious lack of clothing vendors on this island.
Before Daphne could simply accept everything that Jules had told her there were a few things she needed to know first and she just hoped the younger girl wouldn't take offense to her questioning.
