It was strange, really, to watch Jules come over and sit down. Even knowing that Jules was old enough to be engaged hadn't quite stopped her from expecting the three year old she knew to come bouncing through the door, swinging around whatever new toy Clint had bought her. The reality of it, however, was very different. She wasn't a three year old, which to some extent made Daphne feel a little better. She could handle someone close to her own age. Honestly, she should be overjoyed. It was like speaking to Astoria or Pansy, in a way. All those parenting skills she was sure she lacked weren't entirely necessary ... at least at that particular moment.
"Hi," she smiled in return as Jules took the seat across from her. Now that Jules was there, all those questions she'd had to ask her had scattered. She supposed if nothing else this was a learning experience she could benefit from. Trial and error seemed to be the best way to tackle this situation. "I'm glad you made it. I wasn't sure whether or not you'd had a chance to explore the place."
Not that there was a whole lot to explore, mind you. After a brief interruption by whichever poor soul was stuck serving food to the rest of the island, Daphne glanced back to Jules, her eyes taking in the traces of familiar features that had matured since the last time she'd seen her. "Since I imagine you've been bombarded with questions since you arrived," she started, figuring there really wasn't much of a point in small talk about the weather. It was hot. That was all there was on the weather front. "Did you have any questions you wanted to ask?"
At the very least, it would give her the chance to gauge the younger girl and figure out how best to proceed with her own questions.
