Megan felt like she should be doing something, but right now, she needed a break from everything. This year was not going as planned and she couldn't do anything about it. All she could do was try to get through it as best as she could.
The only bright ray of light was that the Carrows weren't there this year. Sometimes she still felt herself shaking from the after effects of the Cruciatus curse. It was pain unlike anything she'd ever felt in her life. And she vowed she would never feel that way again. She was strong. She spoke her mind and sometimes that tended to get her into trouble of the worst kind. She'd made sure she could still do the disarming and stunning spells so she could defend herself if something happened. It was the best she could do right now.
Lost in thought, Megan found herself by the lake's edge, under her favourite tree. She took a seat on one of the roots and pulled out her journal - the one she started writing in after Cedric died. The thick book was only halfway full of her ramblings and memories of things that had happened over the past three years. With everything that had happened in the past few weeks, she felt the need to write every few days. This was supposed to be her last year - the year where she left Hogwarts to find her own place in the world. And now she wondered if she'd ever be able to do that. If they'd all be stuck inside the quarantine bubble forever.
She started writing, her knees pulled up to her chest. The words just poured out on the page and soon she was so lost in her own mind that she didn't hear anyone come up behind her.
