Friending Frenzy! Wheeeeeeee!

Welcome to The Phoenix Flies Kick-off Friending Frenzy!

At over 70 members, more than 180 watchers, 60 prompts and more than 40 claims, we're off to a fantastic start! (Rumor has it that there are fics that are already done and ready to be posted... submission guidelines will be posted soon.) So while we all wait for next Monday's posting to begin, we're going to start things off with a little friending frenzy. Now's the time to catch back up with all your old friends from The-Site-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named as well as making some new ones as well.

For friending purposes, does age matter to you?: yes. I post a lot of RL stuff, and if I do post fic, I'd rather it only be read by those over 18.
How you participate in fandom (writer/artist/beta/icon maker/vidder/lurker/official wearer of slinky red knickers): I'm a writer and a beta reader. I'm really good at catching the words you really wrote instead of the ones you thought you wrote.
Favorite HP characters/pairings: I'm another Snarry fan, but I also love Draco/Harry, Tom Riddle/Harry if it's done correctly and well written, and Lucius/Harry. Also, just because I like having stones hurled at me, I really don't mind Ginny all that much.
Least favorite characters/pairings: I absolutely hated Slughorn, Umbrage, Lockhart, and Fudge. Hagrid made me role my eyes a lot, and that's saying something, because since I don't use them, the muscles don't really work well at all. Getting them to role spontaneously is very difficult!
Favorite book from HP canon: My favorite book would definitely have to be Chamber of Secrets. I loved the mystery, the suspense, and the pure neatness of the plot. Also, the fight between Lucius and Arthur made me smile.
Other fandoms that you dig: I adore Doctor Who, Torchwood, The Tomorrow People, Sapphire and Steel, Mercedes Lackey books, Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series, Lois McMaster Bujold's Chalion series, Anne Bishop's Black Jewels series, Anne McCaffrey's books, Roger Zelazny's Amber Chronicles, Babylon 5, Star Trek, TNG, DS9, and Voyager, Star Wars, especially Dooku/Palpatine, and Buffy.
Anything else you want us to know?: I've been blind since birth, as many of you know already. I love answering questions about it, so feel free to ask anything at all. I don't mind talking about it, and it's very hard to embarrass me when it comes to any aspect of that subject, trust me. I, too, love making new friends, but if all you post are quizzes, memes, and internet speak, the chances are very good that I'm not going to add you back. And if there's nothing in your journal, I'm probably not going to add you either. In fact, I may be removing a few journals very soon for that reason. Also, journals that contain mostly art make me want to cry, for, ahem, obvious reasons. :D

	Aw!! Snuggles you! I just read your latest breathe drabbles, and Harry telling Sevvy about the death of Sirius made me sniffle. I still have the picture of Severus sliding in behind him and holding them both while they're asleep in my head. Hi!!! I love this line. It made me laugh because it's so true. Sometimes I look over what I've written and I'm amazed because I could have sworn that I meant to write something different.

Oh man, now that you've mentioned it, I don't feel so bad about saying it--I'm not a big Hagrid fan either. He's just so simple (for lack of a better word) and another character that I felt truly suffered for lack of characterization.

You sound interesting. Mind if I friend you? I tend to post fic, rl stuff, and my opinions. *grins*

	OK, am home (1st week of school is KILLER for counselors) and have looked. It looks like it's called "Tangled Webs" it centers around the SaDiablo family and takes place after her stand-alone Jaenelle novella. Due out March 2008. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Wow, you are well read. I haven't read the Amber Chronicles since I was a teen, but weirdly had been thinking of them lately - wondering if I should try and get hold of them again, or whether I would find my current incarnation not liking them as much and so spoil the memory. I also used to love the Anne McCaffrey Dragon books, but then I went and read some of her romances which are, er, not so good.

You are totally forgiven for not minding Ginny. I respect the right of others to hold their own opinions, however horrendously misguided I might privately think them....;-)

I firmly believe that one of my past selves absolutely adored a tormented hero, so I think that's why I like Ginny. Besides, her adventure in CoS makes me want to write her as the dark consort of a newly risen Tom Riddle and a slightly insane Harry who has had enough of being manipulated by Albus Dumbledore and a stupid wizarding population who can't even say one wizard's name, much less fight for themselves without looking to him for reassurance. The three of them would, of course, rule Wizarding England with iron fists, and the first people to die would be Umbridge, Fudge, and Lockheart. :D Hmmm... I feel a bunny scratching at my door...
