Victor Fitzgerald was not the typical bookstore goer. With a couple of books on the table in front of him, for show, his feet propped up on that selfsame table, and his Moleskine nestled inside the journal that had mysteriously come into his possession, he gave off that typical bookstore goer vibe. In fact, however, he was writing.
And it wasn't just writing average nonfiction, or science fiction, or anything of that sort.
He was writing smut.
He'd made a name for himself by writing scores of books under a pseudonym -- his mother would likely be horrified if she knew -- while his more legitimate work was published under his own name. Reviews of locations, critiques of clubs and restaurants, all were fine enough things for him to put his own name in the byline. His excuse for visiting Athens? He was writing up some pieces for the times -- they were going to have a whole series on vacationing in Europe.
The fact that he'd always been drawn to the city was something about which he would not speak. Just like he would not speak of the mysterious dreams and the strange journal. That was crazy talk.
He pushed those thoughts aside, and continued to write, his blue roller-ball pen forming words on the Moleskine's pages, detailing just how the curvaceous brunette's clothes were coming off. That line looked fantastic! He took a sip from the coffee thermos next to him.
