we can go with that if it's not too much trouble! he was homeschooled up until high school - his family's reputation definitely preceded him (8 kids, 'weird' parents), so he had to work overtime to be perceived as normal - but ended up being the cliche popular kid. he'd never been outside of sf when they would have met, so the fact that she was from london would have seemed like THE most fascinating thing to him back then. i figured they would have split up when college rolled around, so that works perfectly

what school would they have gone to? if you want to make a custom for us to talk into. she would've been a fish out of water in sf, trying to hide her accent, mimicing his. his family would've fascinated her because she would've thought hers was stuffing and boring and to be dating not just an american but the most popular guy would've been THE most fascinating thing for her too. he would've been her first everything and then they could've ended it in the summer when she broke it to him that she was going to back to london and live with her grandparents.
