sam was superboy in the original universe. in this universe, he's sam shields and he's a celebrity. when he was in high school he was part of a reality tv show and it launched his career as a model and then transitioned into acting. he's currently the star of a teen show on the CW called STEEL in which he plays a teenager trying to balance his life as a super powered hero and high school.

	darcie is going to be a little bit older, since i feel like kat can't pass for early 20s so much anymore so i'm keeping her close to 28, but maybe they grew up together somehow -- like their parents were friends, or she used to babysit him or something random like that? she would find him ridiculous but delightful. i'm still figuring her out but darcie is going to be 27, working at minimum as a dispatcher for the fire department, but may or may not be supplementing her income as a poli sci adjunct at riverville college. personality-wise, i think she's bright and resourceful but a little eccentric, incredibly impulsive and with a tendency to lack filter when she talks. i think she has a tendency to joke around a lot or be snarky, but is ultimately very dependable and loyal. que about him?

	it sounds like at the very least they'd get along. most of the time he's playful and ready to engage even if he can be moody sometimes too. there's a big of an age gap so no school overlap or anything but they can have met somehow in town somehow. i'm drawing a blank, can you think of anything specific? cass is a little bit of everything. but basically she's an art nerd with an infinity for making mix tapes or using song lyrics as rebuttals in comments (at least custom-wise). she's very stubborn, outspoken to those she's close with, she's very loyal to her friends and will hurt anyone who hurts them. i think these two would get along and cass would love the snark and lack of filter.
