Who: OPEN
What: The Halloween party continues, now with far more elaborate costumes...
Where: The Empty Grave
When: 9 p.m. until
Warnings: Just assume this one's going to get naughty.
Notes: This is the transformation post! Again, subject line denotes location. Go shed those mortal skins!

As it had been with Pax Letale, so it was with its tenants: The shift from mundane to immortal was somehow creeping but immediate, passing almost beneath notice until the change was complete. Clothing faded rather than being shed; some deities remained in their humans' attire, some wore their old familiar kit, but all were utterly changed. The DJ played on, bartenders and waitstaff wound through the crowd, guests from outside the strange apartment danced and talked and flirted still with the partners who had brought them, all of them oblivious to the inhuman nature of the beings beside them. But for the residents of Pax, everything was about to change.

A short time later, the pair walked through the dark corridors, hand in hand. Osiris walked silently, both in his words and footfalls. The loud noise his host’s leather-and-wood shoes made against the flooring disarmed him greatly, so he left them back at the false door. The touch of his bare feet against the corridor satisfied him, gave him a more certain sense of physical existence. His wife’s hand had the same effect.

“There are more people in this building, that much I am sure of.” His fingers grazed over the wall, which was constructed of much flimsier materials than he remembered in his own age. “I regret sending the newer part of my soul to sleep, when modern counsel may have been helpful.”

"Too true. I believe my mortal seeming is quite knowledgeable of the workings of many things, though I do hope that someone can enlighten us on your strange garb," Isis replied, watching Osiris examine the walls and then doing the same. Things certainly had changed if paper could be used for wall coverings. She paused in her rumination, cocking her head like a bird, "I believe I hear voices."

Amun had taken to wandering, unfamiliar as he was with the bulk of the crowd around him. Mut was almost certainly about, that much he knew; he could feel her as he could feel other, more distant relations, friends he had not seen in countless years. But she was not to be found just then, at least, and so a more thorough examination of his surroundings seemed in order. The building itself seemed to agree. Doors opened at the lightest touch, some opening in walls that had been solid moments before. The world around him knew his desires, as it had so long before: It shaped itself to his will with the slightest provocation.

He could not have said how long he had been idly meandering or how often he had doubled back upon his own tracks, but it seemed no time at all when he saw the two of them. "Osiris," he said, warmly. "Isis. It is good to see you both again." His dark brow furrowed slightly, though an amused light danced in the blackness of his kohl-lined eyes. "What odd dress," he added, looking down too late at his own attire. The loose-fitting linen shirt was one thing, at least passable if not entirely to his liking; the lean-lined military trousers, however, was something else altogether. "I see we've all made a few changes since last we spoke."

Amun's garb had changed, but there was nothing else Osiris didn't recognize. Before Amun, he dropped to one knee, and Isis along with him. While he shoulders were straight and noble, as they always were when he was first alive, Osiris could not help his own humility. To their chief he bowed his head, averted his eyes.

"Indeed. I cannot admit to understanding the nature of the change, except it seems that a long time has passed." Osiris took in a breath, and dared a bold question. "Amun. Was it by your powers that we were made awake again?"

Mut had had the great misfortune of being in the ladies room at the time of her transformation.

Fate had been merciful, at least, in that she had not been in a stall at the time, but that did little to help the near unbearable discomfort and brief terror that accompanied the change. It was not the shift into one of her divine forms that was in itself painful, but rather the constriction of the mortal's garments around her person that were strangling her person.

This resulted in a mournful lowing that no one could seem to hear, at least at first.

She'd run into three walls trying to escape the tight, confining space of the facilities, lowing more wildly each time, trying to scrape against the edge of the counter, the molding of the door, even the garbage can to rid herself of the garments.

An overturned trash can and two pipes broken from her frustrated kicks later, she finally escaped the bathroom, presenting quite a sight to her kin - whose presence she barely registered due to her predicament. Zara's fishtail had split and torn, but still manage to hang in tenacious sparkles around her middle; the seashell top dangled from around her neck; but worst was the red wig, which seemed to be stuck on her horns, blinding her.

Amun? her mental voice sought out the familiar presence. She normally did not prefer to speak much in this form, but there was nothing for it.

As though to compensate, she lowed again, perhaps still more mournfully.

"Perhaps indirectly," he answered Osiris, smiling softly as he did. He motioned for the two of them to rise, pleased their sense of decorum had not been undermined by centuries of disuse. Amun glanced around, taking in their unfamiliar surroundings. His lips thinned, though the corners of his mouth remained faintly quirked. There was much here he would have changed, had this been entirely within his conscious control, adjustments to their clothing and the building that housed them foremost in his mind.

These thoughts were quickly set aside, however, when he heard Mut's changed voice. "In here," he called, quite cheerfully, as though the shift in her circumstances altered nothing in how he addressed her. When she entered the room, he plucked the wig from her horn, smiling as he dropped it to the floor. "I'm not sure that costume suits this form, my queen."
