Who: OPEN
What: The Halloween party continues, now with far more elaborate costumes...
Where: The Empty Grave
When: 9 p.m. until
Warnings: Just assume this one's going to get naughty.
Notes: This is the transformation post! Again, subject line denotes location. Go shed those mortal skins!

As it had been with Pax Letale, so it was with its tenants: The shift from mundane to immortal was somehow creeping but immediate, passing almost beneath notice until the change was complete. Clothing faded rather than being shed; some deities remained in their humans' attire, some wore their old familiar kit, but all were utterly changed. The DJ played on, bartenders and waitstaff wound through the crowd, guests from outside the strange apartment danced and talked and flirted still with the partners who had brought them, all of them oblivious to the inhuman nature of the beings beside them. But for the residents of Pax, everything was about to change.

Overturned snack tables (5 second rule!): OPEN

Dark eyes blinked into newfound awareness, and there were several moments before the sudden change in scenery fully registered. Since when had everyone else been so tall?

...oh. Right.

Raven spread his glossy wings wide, admiring the blue-black sheen of his feathers with such fervor that he didn't even bat an eye at the woman whose drink he'd inadvertently knocked to the floor with the action. She muttered a few choice words in his direction, and Raven cocked his head curiously, a mischievous smile curling almost tangibly across his curved beak; the woman sensed the movement more than she saw it, although the smile was evident in the black, twisted sneer of his human visage. Then, in what must have been a terribly impressive (or possibly just terrifying) sight to those onlookers not privy to his new form, he raised his arms above his head and, with several powerful flaps, ascended up into the rafters.

It's about goddamn time! was the first articulate thought to come to mind as he surveyed the ballroom beneath him and the pandemonium that was quickly overtaking it. He could recognize his brethren and sistren deities by their energies, though he knew few of them by name; but that really wasn't all that important, now, was it? He was finally free after all those years of imprisonment, body-hopping from one mortal incarnation to the next and watching the world change through the eyes of each one, always hovering just on the edge of realization but unable to truly manifest himself. Until now.

Oh, this was looking good. He watched as the dark haired fury upended the food bedecked table, and his stomach churned in hunger. When was the last time he'd had a decent meal, anyway? A few centuries ago? Maybe a millennia or two? Or ten?! Well, first things first- he turned his tail and promptly released a slurry of pale-colored excrement onto whatever innocent bystander happened to be beneath him (what an unfortunate visual THAT must have been), then spread his wings again and swooped down to land amongst the delectables strewn across the floor.

Raven pecked at a discarded weenie hors d'oeurve for a few moments before hopping over to the next enticing little niblet, pausing every so often to enjoy the chaos around him. Had to hand it to the crazy bitch- he couldn't have done it better himself.

That was crass.

Jörmungandr was not entirely displeased, truth be told. Since leaving Harmonia's side he found himself objectively intrigued by the goings-on around him, chaotic as they were, bloodstained as they were likely to become; the bird, mirrored-black and gleaming, had done no more than could be expected under the circumstances, no better than its nature allowed. The serpent coiled himself into a ball, his size expanding as his thick body twisted and curled upon itself. His forked tongue flicked at the air, scenting, assessing. This was no god he knew, from no world he recognized: Deep beneath the ocean he would not have known him, and lifetimes trapped, unknowing, in human flesh, had not brought them into contact.

And what are you? he asked. His black eyes did not leave the bird, though he could smell the overturned snacks, some more enticing than others. Where do you come from?

Raven noticed the movement in his peripheral vision, and as he finished greedily wolfing down another appetizer, he hopped around to face his visitor. The feathers at his throat ruffled instinctively for a moment at the figure that met his gaze.

...woah, giant snake. Didn't see that one coming.

He regarded this new menace for several moments, head cocked at increasingly humorous angles in typical avian fashion. Those glistening scales were impressive, as was the creature's overall girth, and was it....getting....bigger, wait, that wasn't a good sign! Raven spread his wings in an answering gesture; in a matter of moments, he'd suddenly swelled to three times his original size. That's right, no serpentine sleazeball was going to intimidate him.

The question, when it came, was almost laughable, and Raven responded as such with a harsh, grating cackle. I hope that question was rhetorical. The voice was surprisingly smooth, deep, and practically oozing with biting sarcasm; it simultaneously did and did not belong to the body of his current human host, although something of Shae's essence still lingered around the edges.

There was little formality in his speech as he addressed his companion, hopping closer and relishing the fact that he now towered considerably over the snake. I'm right at home, thanks for asking. Looks like you're the new kid in town.

If he sensed the mockery in the comment, Jörmungandr did not show it. Millennia of Thor's torments made poor dinner party conversation seem the most minor of trials. He made no effort to further alter his size, pleasantly surprised though he was at the Raven's ability to do the same; he sensed no especial threat from this particular entity, its evident ego notwithstanding. He did not feel with this being the pull of kinship that he did with other creatures in the room, but his curiosity about the bird and its origins felt all the stronger for that lack. There was much he was ignorant of, it seemed, thanks to his exile. A sort of sorrow crept over him at the thought, though it was a sorrow more for the knowledge he did not have than any mourning of lost friendships or family; his faint awareness of his father's presence in the room did nothing to shape that feeling, for better or worse.

New here, yes. His head canted to one side, black eyes glittering like beveled onyx. Again his tongue darted out, his leafy scales shifting with his deepening breaths. It was only a question. For aeons I have been in the sea, and there are many gods I do not know. Have you visited the ocean floor, that I should already know you?

Ocean floor? What's that all about? Some sort of whacked out deep-sea diving? Raven cocked his head again, examining the tight curl of his companion's body and feeling a spark of curiosity within his birdy breast. Obviously, he was familiar with the concept of gods in non-human form, but this particular deity was foreign to him; this fellow could almost, almost pass for Brother Rattlesnake, but he seemed to have a much more melancholy air about him. And some really weird-ass scales.

Undaunted, Raven blathered on at his unsuspecting new conversation partner, enjoying the sound of his own voice- even if it was only through telepathic projection. I like to keep things on terra firma, if you get my drift. Or, y'know, off in the wild blue yonder.

He spread his wings to either side for emphasis, taking the opportunity to showboat a little more and display his impressive wingspan. Do these look waterproof to you? Unlike many of his godly brethren, Raven's speech was littered with more than a few modern expressions; what he lacked in eloquence and archaic formality, he more than made up for with colloquialisms and mindless chatter.

Dipping his head again, he was suddenly overcome by the urge to...just...c'mon, it was a huge snake! This was the equivalent of a giant Slinky for him! Unable to restrain himself, Raven gave an experimental peck to the poor creature's belly.

Gee, only took two months to respond. *UBERFAIL* -__-

Sorry. I promise I'll stay on top of things this time around.
