Thanksgiving with the fam is going to get interesting.

Mom chose to wait until today to tell me, Bethany, and Carver via the family group chat (which was Bethany's idea, bless her--I tried to warn her it would mainly end up containing sibling meme wars and confusing and/or disturbing Mom, but...anyway) that we have two last minute additions to the family table:

1. Her estranged younger brother who none of us kids has met before, and

2. his daughter that NONE of the family have met--and apparently only Mom and Bethany knew about because of one of those DNA sites.


Carver and I are scrambling to put together a drinking game. I foresee a hangover in our futures.

I feel like dressing up as a sexy pirate for halloween. I have no idea why.

I ordered the usual, and got pumpkin spice. I don't really mind, I like pumpkin spice. But still

I guess Chaos really lives up to its name. Must be a promotion.

Just wish I hadn't dropped it everywhere.

The AC in our suite went out so I've spent most of the day at the pool.

Probably the first time in a long while it was just for rest and relaxation.

Had the strangest thing happen today. Felt like I was being followed. Usually pretty good at picking up things like this but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't figure out if this was true, and if so where they were.

Eventually lost the feeling after travelling halfway across town and back.

Things I did not expect to get for waking up in Vegas: that snow.

100/10 would still tell my brother the snow falls under "things he gets for waking up in Vegas."

Are three month anniversaries a thing? What milestones do people usually celebrate?

So that post I made a little while back about whether to get a dog or a cat for a pet has been answered for me. I seem to have been "gifted" with a pet. He's really friendly, but he sure as fuck doesn't look friendly.

I was greeted with an enthusiastic 'May the fourth!!' by my favorite barista today, who had gone to great lengths to locate some sort of stencil she could use to put cocoa or cinnamon powder in shapes on top of our coffee.

She seemed confused when I had no idea what she meant, even looking at the symbol on top of my cup. I recognize the symbol from... that other-place. She seemed to think I'd know everything about a 'Star Wars' because I 'look just like someone from the films'.

Interesting. Leon, I dismissed your words out of hand I think.

So this greeted me when I walked in through the door and I'm pretty sure my heart turned to mush.

Alright kind people, I need some opinions. My sister keeps urging me that I should get a pet, and after some things I've been through, I'm inclined to agree that having a companion would be good.

So it is the eternal question I am posing: Dog or cat?

Both have pros and both have cons. I can take the dog running with me, but a cat might be better for apartment living? Throw suggestions at me.

Having memories of a different [...] life for yourself is strange enough. As is getting a mark that somehow goes along with that life.

Finding someone who apparently has memories that overlap with yours is [...] disconcerting.

Especially when what you remember about them so far is them being a nuisance. And singing. A lot.

Adding to the growing list of random ass things appearing out of nowhere, today I got a pair of tactical gloves in my jacket pocket. Not the weirdest thing to show up, but I put them on this morning without even thinking about it. It was like I just knew they were mine and it was part of my routine to put them on.

That's normal, right?

It's pretty much an every day occurrence dealing with misogynistic assholes in my job, but it's especially infuriating on a day like International Women's Day. Being treated like I'm the secretary and not the CEO is exhausting, but it was oh so satisfying putting the asshole in his place. Watching him squirm with realization that he'd just royally screwed up was satisfying.

And people think these nails are just for decoration. I enjoy proving them wrong.

Needless to say, that's one cancelled contract. I don't do business with people who can't treat me with respect.

That mysterious visitor has continued breaking and entering into people's private spaces and handing out odd gifts.

I find myself in the possession of an incredibly fancy... well it reminds me of a fencing foil, but it's definitely higher class than the practice foils. And I have no idea why there seems to be an area to insert gun cartridges into it.

Having studied fencing before,I have to say that the weight of it feels perfect and familiar in my hand, but I haven't practiced that sport in over a year. Strange.

So in seeing other people have received inexplicable gifts today, I no longer feel as special as I did when I found mine. Whoever sent this bracelet and ring, you have good taste. You can never go wrong with jewelry. And I'm certain that is a very expensive diamond on the ring. But I feel this can do something other than look pretty

With my partner still laid up after a fall in the shower, I've had to do double duty on her behalf.
