It's like regular coffee has become extinct in this city. The good stuff, not the remenants of an oil change some places try to pass off as coffee.

I feel your pain. And were it not for the whole 'mortal enemies' thing, I'd be inclined to invite you over for a cup.

As it is, I'll settle for sending you a bag of ground beans. With brewing directions. Test them for whatever you like, but I'm not one to waste perfectly good coffee on an attempt to harm someone.

I'm starting to question this 'mortal enemies' thing. This civility is a real classification killer.

I'll probably regret admitting this but the coffee maker's gone missing. I never would have bothered with Starbucks if it still existed. Easily replaceable, but that machine made the best damn of coffee I've ever had.

okay. Now that's just wrong. No decent coffee, and no coffee maker?

It might kill the classification a bit more to send along a decent model, so I'll save what antagonistic feelings we can try to preserve by suggesting you find a lackey post-haste to track down the former coffee maker, and another to fetch a replacement machine.

If I were so inclined, I might throw in some mockery about my wealth of coffee and your lack thereof, along with some witty comments about how evil is punished and weaves the seeds of its own destruction, but really, I think this one can be cast off to typical human incompetence. Besides, the lack of coffee is just... inhumane.

Coffee is en route, via courier. Anonymously, of course. Maybe I'll mock you publically, but you know that's just for appearances sake.

You know, I was just about to resign myself to the same thing? When I found this little place down the street from the rehearsal space. It's about the size of my hotel room, but the coffee is incredible.

I maintain my stance that coffee is practical, not trendy. Adding a multitude of heavily sugared flavors destroys the purpose. Size doesn't matter, just the coffee.

How's rehersals?

People who feel the need to add sugared flavors shouldn't be drinking coffee to begin with.

They're good! Really good. It's kind of an out-of-body experience, still; everyone is so talented. I think the show's gonna be awesome come together really nicely.

Coffee is one of the major food groups and necessary for survival.

And if you think the coffee in this city is bad, you should try prison coffee some time.

I made you admit to something?! This is a very proud moment for me!

Like you wouldn't believe. Drinking it felt like sandpaper down the back of my throat. And yet the caffeine was craved anyway.

So many people in this city seem impressed by this coffee. I've found it a little strong for my tastes and dreadfully bitter and yet seem to still want more of it.

Is that normal

It's called a caffeine addiction, which usually results from drinking too much coffee. So yeah, I guess you could call that normal.

But logically I...

I need to stop drinking the unpleasent bitter stuff. Is there a less addictive alternative?.

I am Tenel Ka, by the way. Reasonably new here. Long enough to discover coffee at any rate

It's more just trying to get an individual cup on the go. Walk into a cafe and you'll still be standing in front of the menu ten minutes later trying to figure out what half the drinks are on there.

That's not tea. They don't serve tea in this country. They serve hot water seeping with dried leaves, which are normally in a factory-processed gauze bag.
