None of you are going to agree. Arguing over this is about as effective as a dog chasing its tail and just as mindless.
Los Angeles has changed since the Powers That Be and the Senior Partners decided to use it as the battlefield for their epic hissy fit. To perpetuate this war, they went outside of this reality to pick people from other worlds and times to build their armies. This is the point where several new cultures, species, and technologies are introduced to the city. It's the basic principal of evolution, people. Adapt to survive.
With the element of resurrection being brought in, several defeated past threats are getting a second chance and they are not going to want to return to where they were. Trust me on that, I'm one of them. They know perfectly well that the cause of their downfall might be in this city and will remember how they were defeated last time, so they're going to change to prevent it from happening. They're going to learn from outside threats introduced into this city to make themselves unpredictable to the people that know them, to survive. And the outside threats will do the same to escape a second round of defeat by those who know them.
This is the point were this arguing is deemed ridiculous. Yes, the natives know the foundation of this city, the Slayers and Watchers and affiliated good guy members. But we also have to recognize that this city has changed and incorporated into this foundation is new assistance and threats. The visitors are a varied group. There's some real idiots and there's some respectable people. The latter group are helpful and shouldn't be penalized for the former. They are willing to observe, to learn, and to assist in any manner they can. The Powers That Be chose someone who wasn't born in this reality to be their Champion, meaning they have faith that some of the people they bring in are just as capable as the ones that are already here.
No disrespect is meant towards any Slayer, Watcher, or native (which is a stupid word to be throwing around but for lack of thinking of anything better, it sticks.) You still are the Chosen, granted the power necessary to fight the threats. But it also should be recognized that the PTB and the Senior Partners have stolen other realities' Chosen ones to bring here. They have fought somewhere else, seen their allies die and killed to stay alive, done things they regret, loved and lost, whatever. Yes, the knowledge advantage is still tipped towards the people of this reality, but it's not a landside. Threats from their world are here too, doing what they do best just like the rest of them. They still get the general concept, maybe not of demonology, but of the rules of warfare. Anyone comments about me advocating playing by the rules and I will hurt you.
You really want someone to point fingers at? Look at the fools rushing in. Every side has them and they get more press than the ones who do things the logical way.
To wrap this up, this arguement is pointless. No one will agree because they want things done how they're used to things being done. And I'm looking at all of you. People of this reality, we need to understand that it isn't ours anymore. People not of this reality, you need to understand that it isn't yours anymore. Would you look at that? Common ground. So if anything is going to get done, maybe it's time to stop pointing fingers and talk instead of playing with a superiority and inferiority complex.
I'm not saying I'm right and other people are wrong, or trying to get you to see things my way. This is only an observation of what I've been reading. Do with it what you will, argue with me about your opinion if you want, but understand that I have every right to my opinion as do the rest of you.
