I have completed my first trimester! I am grateful that my clothes are normally so loose, but now i fear even they are not going to last for very much longer. I will have to let out the seams soon, I think.

I believe that you know how to sew, but if you need any help, please let me know.

I do! It should be fairly easy to accomplish, but I hope that I won't need to make entirely new clothes for some time.

I've made several outfits here. I wonder if I should try to expand into maternity wear.

I'm glad that your pregnancy is going well so far.

They would certainly be put to good use!

It's wonderful. A bit uncomfortable at times, but my body is still adjusting and I'm so pleased to have this opportunity.

I shall have to think about it. To be honest though I barely know how to make regular clothing, let alone maternity clothing.

It can be quite uncomfortable, especially as the baby grows, but the bright side of it is that here it is only 3 months instead of 9.

How did you... decide on who the father of your child would be?

Practice will only help, Lady Mary.

It is rather nice, though. I'm so pleased to be able to grow a child within me.

Isaac has been very kind to me. We got to know each other during the snow storm after my arrival. He's very warm, and so we spent most evenings together. I do know that Lady Arva could not possibly have brought anyone here that should not be a father. If you get along well with him, surely it is worth having a child.

Quite a few men have been kind to me, though I fear it is not as simple as that for me. Nor is it that simple for most men here. I think a lot of them are here for the sex, not for the procreation.

At this point, I have narrowed my choices to two men, though I have not approached either of them about it yet. I've nearly given up the notion of keeping the baby and raising it here, as it seems that most of the men here have little desire to actually parent. Besides, this place is so primitive that I am unsure if I wish to take on the task of raising a child in this environment.

I feel as though making such a choice carefully is very important, at least for me.

I think it may depend on the man's situation. There are some men here who are in relationships, I know, which complicates things. Isaac and I agreed that we could be with other people while I was pregnant. I only asked him not to father another child while I am pregnant.

It is good to talk about it openly, Lady Mary. Giving your child to Lady Arva is certainly a very good choice and what we plan to do ourselves. There are those that are raising their child here. I believe that's Pepper's and Wedge's intention. You could always speak to them about their experiences with the resources we have available to us.

You should only do so once you're ready. No one is rushing you.

I would certainly have to set some stipulations. I think sometimes these gods see us as baby machines and forget that people have feelings that have to be taken into account.

I'm surprised to hear that you have not chosen to keep your child. It seems like you're so excited.. I would have thought that you would keep the baby. I certainly don't disparage you for the choice, I am just surprised, that's all.

But surely Lady Arva spoke to you about what this island was all about? I know it is not necessary to have a child immediately, or nearly as soon as I have, but that is the goal of this place. Having a child is a wonderful experience thus far, and others seem to be quite pleased with their own experiences of being pregnant.

While I'm quite certain Isaac and I could raise our child together here, Lady Arva is more than capable. I want my child to know the gods and love them, as I do. I would not wish to deny my child such an opportunity.

I don't find myself to be as much of a devotee as you are, but I suppose that is not new. I wasn't particularly fervent in religion back home and I am not here either. I'm very glad for you that you are though, dear.

You're lucky that you've found a man who is open and ready to take on the challenges of pregnancy with you.

As for me, I believe you're right. I need to speak with the two men I have listed as potentials.

I am simply grateful for the opportunity to live here, and to be so happy.

Isaac is truly wonderful, and we have been very lucky to have not had any challenges with my pregnancy thus far. I'm quite happy.

I wish you the very best of luck, Lady Mary.
