Life spent on a swing set
Who: Xavin + Eve
What: A meeting perchance a friendship
When: Afternoon-ish
Where: A playground/park area
Rating: PG for starters I guess, but this could change.
Standing by one of the many oak trees on the border of the recreational area, Eve cocked her head to the side and listened to a pair of teenage boys as they bickered about why the sun had disappeared. Worked up over certain mythical villains, arguing about the best violent approach to solving the problem, they passed by without a single flicker of awareness she was there. Breathing a sigh of relief Eve crossed the open parkland as fast as she possibly could, seeking refuge under a large colorfully connected playground.
The cool wind passed straight through Eve’s worn clothing as she tried to recall what the marvelous structure was called. Aya, the woman in her memories, so many memories, had taken her to a place like this. A peaceful place where she was happy, where she didn’t obey Bowman or watch those horrible moving pictures .The only difference was that the memory was in the daylight, not bathed in an orange artificial glow as this one was.
As much of a disappointment as it could have been, it hardly deterred Eve from finding the more memorable piece of play equipment: the swing set. Slipping lazily onto the plastic strip Eve quite quickly picked the skill of using momentum to swing herself too and fro and before too long was in her own world just about oblivious to her surroundings.
